Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Deleting posts leaves phantom postI tried three themes, all the same. Also, three different browsers (clearing cache) and still the same.
I don’t get it. Isn’t the callout for showing a post based on what’s in the database? But these posts are not in the db.
@yokima: I didn’t modify the plug-in. It just worked for me. I suppose whatever the plug-in relies on wasn’t changed between Prologue and P2. Of course, if something ever changes down to road to make it incompatible I’ll be in trouble…
I found this link: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/698438/ordering-wordpress-posts-by-most-recent-comment
but it seems a little complicated for me, as well as P2’s theme being different enough from the default that I couldn’t follow it well, but it looks like it’s on the right track.
Then I searched for a plug-in and found “Sort by Comment,” which was designed for the Prologue theme (P2’s predecessor I believe).
I literally just did this 5 minutes ago so I haven’t fully tested it, but it appears to do at least most of what you are asking, that is putting the most recently replied to ticket on top. As far as I can tell, though, this feature does require a manual refresh. It won’t dynamically reorder the posts on the main page as comments come in.
You can see what I’ve got here: https://www.askmeabout.us
edit: sorry for the links, but when I tagged them they disappeared (???)

In reply to: P2 — Format of pages doesn’t match main pageAlright. I fixed it. For some reason the page.php file was broken. I just had to find the right place to put the <div class=”sleeve_main”> tag.
Thanks. It wasn’t until I started to make a custom template that I figured out how to just modify the existing one to do what I wanted.

In reply to: P2 — Format of pages doesn’t match main pageAlright. I tried to replace the page.php code with single.php, but it appears that nothing has happened. I went back and reloaded page.php from the original install as well, in case I screwed something up along the way. Still nothing.
I figured I could do a custom page, but I’m trying to avoid it since I want my “custom” page to be the same as the main page.
Thanks for the help though. I’ll keep plugging away.

In reply to: P2 – Highlight author comments?I’ve tried several variations of what you posted, but I’m not much of a code guy. I can’t seem to make a difference. Thanks for trying. I’ll keep plugging away to see if I can get anything working.

In reply to: P2 – Highlight author comments? Here’s one. The post is from 2008, but there are a couple comments that say it worked for them in version 2.8 (the same version I’m using).
Thanks.

In reply to: p2 Ajax updates for all visitorsMy blog works flawlessly when I’m logged in, but I want any viewer to see the live updates.
I’ve applied the change suggested by isamisam above, but it does not work for me.
