I’ve fixed that problem. Try version 0.6.9.

I’d love a way to inject a post into the loop as well. The only alternative approach that I know of is to create a fake post in the database and use the where actions to filter it out.

Try one of the earlier versions. I think I introduced that bug in 0.6.8.

Have you tried miniposts? It’s similar to Sideblog, but it pulls the comments out into your sidebar. It may be closer to what you want.
