I deleted a lot of the duplicate example popups. I only have a single popup active and it is a new one since the issue began.

Can’t change themes for long enough to assess.

It is an issue on the Google side – it will not accept a subfolder. If you had a quick solution for that, it would have been great, otherwise I would have you leave it.

Adding to this thread as I am having a similar issue but believe I know the cause (just not sure how to fix it).

For some reason when I set up my site, I did so in a subdirectory of the public_html folder. So when I went to Google Analytics and created the app for the OAuth ID, your plugin told me to use https://mysite.com/folder for the authorized Javascript origin but Google didn’t like that and wouldn’t accept a subfolder. If I use https://mysite.com, Analytics data is empty in the dashboard.

This may be a site-specific/Google-specific weird interplay that can’t be solved. Really love how light your plugin is compared to the annoying one I deleted…

If you have any thoughts, I would love to hear them.

Checked with my host who replied:

“I can confirm we do not have any configuration on the server that would have routed your network through China, even more so through an Android device. Unfortunately as this script isn’t coded by us, we wouldn’t be able to tell how it works exactly. However you can consider checking the account the script is hosted on and see if there is any malware on it. I would also strongly recommend you to run a malware scan on the account and also to replace the script’s core files just in case.”

I ran two malware checks using different plugins.

Deleted and re-installed NextScripts plugin and the helper app.

Still getting the same message when I share a post via NextScripts to Instagram. Any other suggestions?

My host is based out of China but my server is in the US (Chicago).

I did say that the user was ‘me’ on the two subsequent tries to post but the post failed to go through.

I’ll reach out to the host as well.

I saw that and found the blog post regarding using a proxy but as I mentioned above, the description for how to use proxy is extremely limited and hard to follow.

My main issue remains the intermittent auto-posting function whether I use a WP cron or Immediate option for posting. That is the main purpose of this plugin and it was working really well for much of the past year. Despite sending my logs and cron job info in follow up emails to Ludwig, I wasn’t receiving any answers and the ticket system doesn’t show any but the first response. I opened a second ticket and have yet to hear any suggestions on fixing this. The plugin is literally useless if it can’t post to social networks when a WP post goes ‘live’ (note I’m not talking about any auto-reposting).

And I’ve already told the devs how much I like WP/LR and that it integrates perfectly with their custom post types.

I rethought my strategy and may keep WP/LR as-is and create pages expressly for SEO use.

The theme is Avada – I can confirm it works very well with WP/LR and it’s nice that it is the most popular theme out there.

Good to know that WP/LR probably won’t care about the post type change. I’m going to see how SEO improves with the one page I converted and then decide on the rest.

Can’t find prior ticket for Instagram issue but figured out login error – IG now prefers username for login in SNAP (entry in settings asks for email address)
