There is sometimes a problem with cookies, especially with Apache on localhost. I don’t use Apache – I found it quite problematic with WinXP and switched to Abyss.
Hopefully someone else will have an answer for you.

You may want to take a look at what the errors and notices are set to in your php.ini file and set it to spit out all of them. It will give you an idea of what exactly is going on, and even if you don’t understand it, someone here will probably be able to tell you what’s going on.

PS, ultimately I would’ve liked /archives/%day%-%monthnum%-%year%/%postname%/, which is what I tried originally with the same error.

I’m having an issue with importing OPML from blogrolling – testing locally, I’m getting a parse error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_ECHO in G:\wordpress\wp-admin\link-parse-opml.php on line 58

I’m also having this problem with alpha-2. My OPML import from blogrolling is also failing with a parse error.
Another issue I’m having is that the permalinks aren’t working. They worked fine previously on the same host.
