Ok, so my expert webmaster figured this out about 5 minutes after i asked. here

    she put this code

    .no-link {

     pointer-events:none;

    }

into the css for the page that has the “image & logo” carousel working on then added a “no-link” class to each specific image.

    and yay no links…

    ??

Tried that it didn’t work, so I used this approach https://kb.mc4wp.com/add-group-choice-cf7-forms/

but I can’t seem to make or demand that the fields are required… it’s totally working injecting into mailchimp and firing the automation for each choice.. but I need to ensure users are forced to select one of the choices..

I also found the code for adding a script to force required field in github, but it was for check boxes and not radio buttons…

not sure what I should be doing now… using the form builder in MC4WP finally got mailchimp catching the data set.. but i can’t seem to ensure that a selection is made by users other than social nudge with “(required)”

What best describes your role? (required)
            <input name="mc4wp-INTERESTS[xxxxxxxxxx]" type="radio" value="xxxxxxxxxx" required="1"> <span>Tech Professional</span>
            <input name="mc4wp-INTERESTS[xxxxxxxxxx]" type="radio" value="xxxxxxxxxx" required="1"> <span>L&D Professional</span>

    Hey there,

I wanted to mention I encountered the same problem today with a recent migration to WPEngine with https://braandcorsetsupplies.com/ we found that the fix needed /shop/* removed from the cache to get it working properly.

I also found during trouble shooting that there was less of a problem for desktop users and more of an issue for ios and bb mobile device users, it seemed that if the website thought you had safari-mobile you could not access the dual new password input page until /shop/* was removed from caching.

I guess what I need is a checkbox added to the attributes section of variable products so I can use the attribute on a per variation but not have it show on the single product view and impact shopping.

    Hi Caleb,

I am using a plugin that allows you to view individual variations.

I want to sort those variations for each variations’ marketing attributes..

NOT just main products, but actual variations.

Here is an example of a tool that allows you to “show single variations” https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-show-single-variations/13523915

I am sorry I am not being clear about this, here it is again:

I want site wide marketing attributes that I can add to specific variations so that I can filter for that attribute and find the different variations with that common attribute across products and product categories.

    Thanks for helping with this.

    Hey Caleb,

How do you hide the secondary attribute(S) from showing up on the single product view page so that you are not required to select it to add it to the shopping cart?

or as in the case of products such as https://braandcorsetsupplies.com/product/satin-strap-elastic-bra-strap-elastic/ which also have a width selector how do you hide the secondary attribute(S) from being shown?

Please examine the ?” or ?” or ?” width in either Fuchsia (Pantone 17-2624)
    or
    ?” in Red (Pantone 18-1764)

Note how you must now select the fabric colour and latext contents (ie the secondary attributes) before you can input the # of meters of fabric you would like.

since they are secondary attributes users can not be required to select marketing/filtering criteria in order to finish adding to their cart.

I know I must be missing something fundamental about this.

    thanks for helping with this.

    Hey @dailprestau,

so you are not actually automating the terms collection just the notification of availability?

as in you will still manually require action to collect payment in the 30 days?

    ENB..//

    Providing terms to clients.

that is an interesting and very common b to b process…

something I think that would be controlled at the payment gateway level.

    great idea though..

    Hey @caleb,

I have the capacity to filter and view specific product variations as single objects.

So in so using ‘woo’s layered nav filters’ i need to be able to specify or desire very much to be able to specify additional ‘marketing’ attributes so I can filter individual variations into groups of like product for users to buy.

one client that needs this specifically is a fabric store that sells tonnes of fabrics that do not generally have identical colour specifications and we use pantone tx colours to specify the product variation since people in fashion in some cases need specificity with the pantone of the fabric they are seeking this also helps with seo for people looking for very specific colours of fabrics, BUT we also need a generic colour attribute for each product variation that has no impact on selecting the actual variation.

as well, I want to be able to filter for pantone when logical without having each product and it’s variations be clouded up with dozens of pantones that are not technically available for that product.

so product specific colour ranges per product variation
    and
site wide generalised colour data attribution for product variations for browsing by colour.

perhaps there is a plugin that allows more incremental control of variations attributes and how and when they are seen or interacted upon?

    too

another way I want to implement this is with photographic print artists, that utilise different papers and techniques for different types of prints.

currently we are creating a specific variation of a photograph product with size and frame of photo, but we need to be able to have people look at which variations use different types of printing paper or technological techniques again we are showing each individual variations as a singular object, so we’d like to give users the chance to go into a category then sort by their preferred paper since it’s only available in certain sizes it does not impact our size frame choices for generating a product variations it is a sub detail that they might want to be aware of and pursue as a preferred product type/technical detail.

so how in gods name do I filter variations since I can see individual variations on category pages with a specific ‘tag’ or ‘attribute’ that will not have any impact on users interface with selecting that product.

being able to view individual variations is an awesome thing for woocommerce shops.. being able to sort them like you could sort generalised products -will be- even more awesome.

I have found that this issue occurs when you go over 30 product variations.

up until 30 it works, as soon as you hit 31 you now see all possible attributes and get the “Sorry, no products matched your selection. Please choose a different combination.” message…

so how do we tweak this so that you can show more than 30?

    ENB..//

Yup it would be pretty awesome to see this updated…

anything we can do to help push that along?
