  • Thanks for the tip. I couldn’t find any errors with firebug. I was playing around with the settings and turned on IV-IA (Use Ajax) and that seemed to fix the problem. With it unchecked, I could consistently duplicate the problem. Once it was checked, I had to get out of the slideshow page and back the the photos page and then when I went back into the slideshow, it worked fine. If I just tried to refresh the slideshow page, it wouldn’t update, I had to get out of the page first and then back in. It now works for all user accounts as well as for visitors.

    Thanks again for your help.

I’ve experienced something similar with both 5.2.9 and 5.2.10.

With the comment system turned on, the slideshow works fine for regular logged in users and visitors, but not if I’m logged in with an administrator account. I tried with an Editor account and it worked fine as well – just not with administrator level accounts.

I’ve been testing this on an internally hosted test server with no outside access.

Here’s a link to a screenshot showing what displays when a visitor looks at the slideshow and when an administrator looks at it.

    Screenshots

If comments are off, everything works with all accounts. The picture shows, the filmstrip shows, the ratings show up, everything. With comments turned on and logged in with administrator account, the picture is blank, the filmstrip shows partial picture. The ratings show up. The direction (previous/next photo) is missing as well as the comment section.

I’m running WordPress 3.8 with Genesis framework and theme.
