I posted a message for help and never got an answer. I hope aI posted it correctly.
History: I started out looking for someone to do my website.
I met up with someone who works with wordpress. He talked me into going on wordpress and building pages, inserting text putting pages in order etc. All I originally wanted is someone to build the site and
teach me to be the webmaster. One thing for sure I am 70 and in good
mental sprits but I have a problem going back to school and taking on a
new software and learning how to build a website. I discussed this with
the woman (web designer) and she does not seem to get that I don’t want
to go back to school and don’t have the memory to do what it takes to
build a site.
At sirst she said (after I told her the scope of the site) she could
do it in 12 to 15 hours at “x” amount per hour. Now her bid is well over that and the scope is less as I have built the pages and have the drop in art that I had completed by an artist.
Here is my question: Now the bid is up from $900.00 to $2200.00
Is my leg getting pulled or is this person serious? NOTE: If I am
going to teach myself, why would I not take time off and do the web site
through a learning process on wordpress?
Many web site desingers I have spoken to give a low price (carrot) and by the time they sucker you in they have doubled or tripled. Is this the anything like what others are experiencing?

Problem I am not tecky so I will pose my questions as best.
How do I get my sub pages to populate into my parent or main page
EX: Parent page is: “short stories” I need to put the short stories under the heading “short stories”
HELP! in simple terms.
