    Hello,

Today out of nowhere I was logged out from my admin area (left it logged in just for a few hours, no one else has access to this computer).

I tried to login again with the correct username and password combination, Google Authenticator also correctly filled out. I had to change my password via the database, but now MiniOrange says my IP is blocked (so I can’t even visit the login page anymore, unless I disable the MiniOrange plugin via SFTP).

Could you please help me out how to get my IP-address unblocked again?

    Thank you in advance!

    David

Edit: After some time I managed to go get access again, I checked the list of IP-addresses that were permanently blocked due to too many login attempts. I gave my own IP of course permission again and the issue seem to be solved. Makes me wondering: a permanent blocked IP-address is not entirely permanently blocked? (not complaining, though! It is an amazing plugin!)

    Hi There,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Can you confirm if you were blocked while attempting 2fa verification? We do not block IPs on the 2-factor page so can we have a screen share call to look into the issue?
You can raise a ticket in the plugin or on our website for the screen share call.

Also, it seems to be you have accessed your site by changing your IP address as if an IP is blocked it will be blocked for a given time which is permanent by default.
You were able to access the site probably because your IP might have changed. Right now, we block the IP address permanently by default.

So we can also check your settings for blocking the IP address permanently.

Plus, You can also whitelist your IP address so that it will never get blocked.

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply! I got logged out from my dashboard and tried to login again, but that did not work (even with the correct username and password). We had to change the password in the database by using the terminal. I have whitelisted my IP-address as soon as I got everything up and running again.

I don’t know when I got blocked, I read in the log that I failed 2fa too many times. Together with my fullstack dev we checked everything but there was nothing suspicious either.

Hope it won’t happen again, that’s all. But I don’t think it was the MiniOrange plugin.

Thanks again for your reply to my issue,

    David

    Hi There,

    Thank you for your reply.

It might be possible you are using multiple plugins for brute force protection or 2fa. Could you please confirm the same?
We can also look into this together on a call for which you just need to raise a ticket from the plugin’s support option.

As the issue has been resolved so I am marking the ticket as resolved if you need any assistance on the same please let me know.
We would be really really happy to assist you.
