Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Oshin theme doesn't upload to WordPressFor anyone else coming across this question…
Oshin is a huge theme apparently and many people have had this same problem. You need to reconfigure some of your server settings to get the theme to upload. Specifically you need to change the maximum MB (default is usually 46 and needs to be 96 or greater I believe) and time needs to be increased. The settings they give will work for most every host except for Godaddy, which needs an even greater runtime
Oshin has since added advice for this issue to their website, though their support section is a little hard to find. You can also find a fix for it on their support page on themeforest or in the comment section there since many people have asked the same.
Hope this helps someone

In reply to: Mobile View running Oshin ThemeYou’ve probably had this answered already. I’m using Oshin and though I’m having issues left and right, the mobile has worked the majority of the time.
I am curious as I do NOT have an option to view “full site” when using mobile. I’m assuming you’re talking about a toggle switch or a link provided in the footer? There’s nothing in my theme like that.
The theme runs bootstrap so it automatically formats for mobile. There’s no real configuration needed except for some setting options for the Menu color and font size. Is it possible that you have mobile for Jetpack running and that’s causing the problem?
The issue I have with mobile is that it is not resizing my header text! So page titles are oversized and there are odd line breaks like this….

OLet me tell ya, it looks great :/
I managed some work arounds but I shouldnt need to. My biggest issue is that I can’t get a slider to work. Both the provided Revolution and Master conflict with the theme and settings are not applied or text is not responsive
I hope you’ve figured things out and your site is running smooth
The plugin was working fine for a couple of months, but now I’m having the same issues as the poster above and more. The 1/1 on the bottom of the page, the loss of formatting and now, and now a broken gallery
The plugin actually broke my site, which I noticed just today. Updating WP, disabling and enabling the plugin got the site back online but now my gallery links won’t work.
Can we receive support even if we didn’t pay for the premium plugin? I don’t need all the additional features, I just need the ones included to work correctly.

In reply to: [Gallery - Video Gallery and Youtube Gallery] Plugin just took my website outI’m getting the same error all of a sudden. Did someone figure this out? I’m confused by the messages above :/

In reply to: [Post Types Order] (Advanced version) Not Working when filtered by CategoryThanks for looking for the email and for the response. I’m glad I wrote and brought the issue with your server to your attention.
For anyone wondering, it turns out I would need to completely rewrite the JavaScript of my theme’s portfolio in order to sort by category :/ I’ll just have to break the news to my client

In reply to: [Custom Contact Forms] Update 6.0 is a disasterThank you, Alienne. I asked this very question elsewhere. I will give this a try in the morning.
I will still look for a different plugin to use long term, but if this quick fix works, at least I can have the forms up and running again while I search for a permanent solution.

In reply to: [Custom Contact Forms] Security issues and moreWhere can people find an older version to reinstall? And what version is both compatible with the old forms and secure?
I’m not certain which upgrade patched the vulnerability but I don’t want to lose my sites again.
Because of all these questions and the inconvenience, it seems easier to move on and find a new plugin that is better developedForum: Reviews
In reply to: [Custom Contact Forms] got hackedReally, less than .01%? Then I guess my sites and tomhart’s site were the only ones hacked according to your math. And though there may be “several different ways” for a site to get hacked, there is documentation on the web that one can reference to recognize this specific one. Are you the developers mother or something? Why defend this plugin so vehemently when the problems have been well documented and reported? Do you think we are making this up?
Bloggers across the web have advised people to not use this plugin because of it’s history with security issues and the developer’s slow response. I did use it for a time and found it fit my needs, but in the long run, it turned out to cause me countless headaches and cost me countless hours
I did find some code for the button color, so I will try to change it to a light gray or something. I would much rather just have the blue link….but can hopefully make another color work. Or at least not look so shocking and large.
Before you think I’m just incredibly cheap for not buying the pro version, please keep in mind that this site is for a nonprofit animal rescue, who has no budget for a website. In fact, I have donated the site and hosting to help the cause, but cannot afford anymore out of pocket expenses myself.
I would like to suggest though, that the default color of the new button be changed. The “read more” link in blue does not show up again the deep green of the new button.
If anyone has suggestions or some code that will help my situation, I am still all ears
