In reply to: [UPDATE] AIM Online Status IndicatorI keep getting an “unknown” status on my blog. The icon seems to be accurate however (online/ offline/ away/ etc.) Do I need to customize the code at all or open a port on my router for the Presence server to recognize it or something? I’m confused.
Thanks.

In reply to: Spam Karma 2 TroubleI’m wondering about the order of the spam filters. More specifically, I have a few terms in my “comment moderation” box which is suppost to hold comments for moderation. It seems that these terms are no longer active, as 1 user whose IP I’ve added into this box is now able to comment freely (the bastard! ;-). Any thoughts? Thanks!

In reply to: Comments still allow spam from unregistered usersI’m having a similar problem. About 2 months ago I checked ‘must have a previously approved comment to post’ and it worked great. Now, in the last day or 2, I’ve had a couple dozen comments show up! I’m using 1.5.3 I believe.

<?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry »'); ?>
<div class="clearer"> </div>
So, what if I wanted to put the nbsp between the paragraph and the “Read the rest of this entry”?

In reply to: Seeking feedback ;-)The use of the 2 shades of gray was a little stressful on my eyes… and I’d rearrange the header to be slightly lower than the… j/k! ?? I hate it when people offer design advice instead of functionality advice.
I’m using FireFox on Mac 10.3. Everything looks clean. I’d have no idea if something was showing up even though it was commented out though.

In reply to: wp-photos & the edit fileI’m having a problem with wp-photos as well. Some windows users are telling me they’re getting a 404 error when clicking a thumbnail to see the full pic. Any windows users wanna check this out for me? Let me know if it works or not, and if you have any clues. Thanks!
I also got an e-mail saying RSS didn’t work either…
The thing is… it works for me just fine!

In reply to: how do you stop spammers yet keep comments on?UPDATE: I’m now getting NO spam with this method! ??

In reply to: how do you stop spammers yet keep comments on?On my 1.2 blog, I did something like change the name of the comments file or something so that bots couldn’t look for it. Would this work in 1.5? What file would I change? comment-functions.php perhaps? More importantly, what other files would refer to this that I would have to update? My filter is catching the spam, but I don’t wanna have to delete the same thing over and over like I’m doing now.

In reply to: 1.5 and WP-Photos (Alex King’s Plugin)spikeyslam- I appreciate the help! Can you help me a bit by telling me what’s on line 170 that I’m changing? I don’t have a wp-photos.hack.php. Did you mean the plugin file: wp-photos.php?
Thanks again!

In reply to: Small Bug – Advanced Editing on New PostI’m not sure what’s going on here. I went to my ‘Options/Write’ page and the default category was the one I selected yesterday. Good to go there. BUT, then I went to ‘Manage/Categories’ and there is lists a different category as my default, and it doesn’t change as I switch defaults. Is a variable not getting passed in maybe? I wrote a test entry with no category selected, and it did post to my correct default category, so it just looks like the problem is isolated in the ‘Manage/Categories’ area. Could someone else try this and see if it’s just me or not? Thanks!

In reply to: Small Bug – Advanced Editing on New Postthat’s what I thought… but when I changed the default there (including the default in the e-mail section), when I go to ‘manage’ ‘categories’, it still list the wrong one. Try it… is it just me? I emptied my cache and everything.

In reply to: Small Bug – Advanced Editing on New PostSo is there a place to change the default category? ‘Cause I can’t find a default change option.
Would it work to change my default cat. name to an existing category, then delete the other category, forcing all of the entries to move to the default? Make sense?
