Thanks for following up. I’ve been able to upgrade to v1.8.3 if I disable the Wordfence setting that enables Google reCAPTCHA on registration and login forms, but it’s enabled, it constantly throws a 0.0 rating on any login forms except the root login, regardless of whether reCAPTCHA is enabled in the User Registration plugin or not.
The result is that, when a customer tries to log in, they are shown this screen error, and they receive a verification link in their email (generated by Wordfence) to click and try logging in again.
When v1.8.1 of your plugin is installed, this link works to verify the user, and they are able to successfully log in after clicking the link to verify their identity. With v1.8.3 of your plugin, it does not, and it just continues to show this error and send them a new verification email every time. (Presumably because the reCAPTCHA continues to register a 0.0 rating.) As I said previously, the Wordfence reCAPTCHA functionality *does* work with v1.8.3 if I disable the “Prevent Core Login” setting.

In reply to: [Modern Events Calendar Lite] Fatal errorDitto. I had to roll back to the previous version on the sites I use this on because of this critical error.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Square] Quick Edit Functionality SupportThis has been our experience with the new Square plugin since the beginning of v2.0.x. We’ve had to stop using Square because of this and other issues that just make it non-functional for us.
Adding another voice to the conversation and a vote for a rollback to version 1 of the plugin. We, too, have had to disable the plugin completely, even after several rounds of tech support. Constant disconnections, failures to sync from WC > Square consistently and accurately, and loss of functionality such as being able to have a variable product where some variations are set to sync and some (virtual variations) are not, and making bulk inventory updates in WC.
Someone somewhere else mentioned that tech support had told them syncing with Square wouldn’t work properly if you didn’t use Square as the payment gateway, which is a deal-breaker for us, since we only want the plugin for syncing inventory, not payment processing on our WC site.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Square] Version 2 will cost you time and moneyMy situation has been so similar, I could have written this myself. Version 1 of the plugin did everything we needed it to do — keep inventory managed in Square. The new version 2 of this plugin not only manages to fail at that (we, too, do not use Square for payments on the website, though I never had any tech support confirm that was the issue, so thank you for that), but it also removed functionality we had previously enjoyed, like being able to manage inventory on some product variations, while other variations were set to virtual with no product management or syncing with Square. We, too, went weeks and round after round with tech support who solved none of our problems and were seemingly indifferent to our plight. We finally had to make the decision to pull the plug on the Square plugin, and now manage inventory management manually, which is a huge pain. I’m beyond upset with this release and the company’s failure to actually address issues that so many people are having.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Square] Plugin forces manage stock on variationsI don’t know if it’ll help you at all, but we ran into a similar situation, and the advice we got from tech support was to go into the main Products list in WooCommerce, click the Quick Edit link on the product you want to turn off Sync with Square for, and uncheck it there, and then save. From what I understood, that triggers a change in the database that unchecking it on the actual product edit page doesn’t. Or something.
(This didn’t actually solve our issue, as we have products that have some variations that ship and some that are virtual, and we needed to turn off Sync with Square on one variation, but keep product management on the others, which is apparently something this new version of the plugin no longer supports. But hopefully it works for your situation.)
Hi @madeincosmos — Thanks for following up and providing an update. In the meantime, before a fix is released, do you have any suggestions for what we can do to keep our inventory counts accurate? Right now, the only thing we know to do when we have an order come in through WC is to go in and manually change the inventory counts in Square to match the new WC counts, before the hourly Square>WC automatic sync occurs. And when we need to bulk update inventory counts after we get in a new shipment of products, to manually bulk edit those counts in Square instead of WC.
Neither of these are ideal, but the manual edits after a sale are particularly problematic, as there’s so much room for error. Any tips or tricks to help alleviate this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Since we’ve been able to reconnect (after being auto-updated to v2.0.4 (which shouldn’t have happened given our settings, btw) and losing the connection again), the manual sync has done nothing to correct the discrepancies in the numbers between WC and Square that have arisen since the system stopped syncing. We’ve had to do a manual audit of all product inventories in both systems, and manually correct them one by one.
But that still doesn’t address the main issue that we can no longer do bulk inventory updates in WooCommerce under the new v.2.0.4 plugin. The inventory counts are locked down for every product unless and until you go in and click the “Fetch from Square” link on the inventory you want to update. Even if you have WC set as the SOR. This is incredibly frustrating and a downgrade in functionality. We cannot do this in WC when we get new inventory in — it’ll take far too much time and is too prone to error — and doing it in Square even with a spreadsheet takes longer and requires more steps than our previous workflow, which was fast and easy.
Do you have plans to correct this oversight in lost functionality in future releases?

In reply to: [WooCommerce Square] Having many sync problems in 2.0.3Just adding my voice to the conversation. We, too, are on 2.0.4, and need to have our SOR set to Woo. It looks like when new orders are coming in, those might be syncing to Square, and manual edits to a Woo product listing are syncing to Square (after having to go through the annoying “Fetch from Square” process for each), but just running a full site sync doesn’t push the existing data in WC to Square, at least not for inventory counts. The syncs say they complete, and when I look at the logs, just about every aspect of a product’s data is pushing over to Square, but inventory counts are not included in the sync log, from what I can see.
This is super problematic, because we rarely use Square, but we need it to be up to date when we do. With all this disconnecting and not-syncing that’s been going on, our WC site is (presumed) correct, and we need to push those correct numbers to Square, which hadn’t been getting consistent updates and is therefore out of date.
(We also have an issue with not being able to bulk import inventory updates in WC, which we used to be able to do, but I’ll leave that topic for another thread,)
Ok, that makes sense. I didn’t see that shortcode in the documentation, but I must have overlooked it. Thank you!
Thank you!
