    Hi,

Thank you for choosing tawk.to and for reaching out.

I would need more context to understand your request better. Could you please elaborate on what exactly you are trying to accomplish?

What do they mean by adding a specific section? Do you mean having the widget show up in a specific section of a page?

Could you please share your contact details with us at [email protected] so that we can get in touch with you and resolve the issue. Thank you.

    Hi Daniele,

Thank you for choosing tawk.to and for reaching out.

The reason that we currently have that kind of setup in our plugin is that we don’t have tracking of the plugin version before in the database. So if we placed the migration script before in the update part of the plugin, the migration script won’t run because the plugin will not know what update it should run.

We currently approached it that way so that the migration will happen seamlessly. The migration will only trigger once. After that, the migration won’t trigger again.

    Hi,

Thank you for choosing tawk.to. We value your input and we thank you for the continued support for our product.

Regarding your concern, there are several factors to check if you are no longer seeing the option to select a widget in your Dashboard.

    1. First, check to make sure you are viewing the correct property.
    – Hover over the hamburger icon in the upper-left of your Dashboard.
    – Select a property in the drop-down list of properties.
    – Check to make sure you’re not viewing your profile (the profile has only one widget option).

    2. Then, select or add a widget:
    – Navigate to Administration (click the gear in the lower-left corner).
    – In the left menu, under Channels, select Chat Widget.
    – At the top of the Chat Widget panel, click the current widget name
    – Select a widget from the list in the drop-down menu.

    3. To create an additional widget for the property, click the green +Add Widget button.

The widget you select will appear in both the desktop and mobile settings. To enable or disable your widget from appearing for desktop or mobile visitors, adjust your widget visibility settings as needed.

    4. If the widget is not appearing on a mobile device, please check the following:

    1. Click Admin
    2. Click “Widget Settings”
    3. If “Hide widget on Mobile” is enabled, untick it
    4. Click “Save”

    Hi,

Thank you for choosing tawk.to and for sharing your challenge here.

You can follow any of the following recommendations as a way secure visitor details when you’re not available.

    1. Modify your Away status message.

Away Status means you are online and available to answer chats but have set the widget message to say “Away” – to set the visitor’s expectation that you may or may not be available to answer their chat. Create an Away message telling them you are currently unavailable and ask them to leave their name and email address.

    2. Activate your Chat Rescuer.

This trigger is used to auto-respond to messages if agents don’t respond in time. You can set a delay message to trigger anywhere between 10 seconds, and up to 1 hour.

Example: If no agents responded to an incoming chat for about 20 seconds, the Chat Rescuer Trigger can be set to spring into action with a message like this – “Thanks for your patience. We are currently unavailable at the moment, please leave your name and email and we will get back to you ASAP.”

    3. Add a pre-chat form.

You can add a Pre-Chat Form requiring the visitor to answer set questions before a chat commences. Fields can include their name and email address, even a phone number and location. However, be aware the form can act as a deterrent to some visitors and in turn reduce your engagement rate. Statistically, is known to reduce engagement by up to 37%.

To see a pre-chat form is used, visit the widget on our site – https://help.tawk.to/article/using-the-pre-chat-form

Once you have visitor’s details, chats can be converted to tickets and responded to at a later date (via the messaging tab in your dashboard).

I hope these suggestions address your concerns.

    Hi,

Thank you for choosing tawk.to and for sharing your challenge here.

When the chat widget can not identify your visitor, the auto-generated visitor ID will appear in the visitor details pane of the Dashboard. You’ll have the option of filling in the name and email manually in the details pane.

If you would like to autofill the names and emails of logged-in site visitors you can opt to use the JavaScript API.

    Hi Hirenshiyani,

There are two ways to integrate the tawk.to live chat into your site.

#1 – Copy and Paste the tawk.to widget code into your site’s HTML section before the closing of the body tag

    Hi Andres,

Thank you for choosing tawk.to and for sharing your challenge here.

If the chat widget is offline, check the property is enabled. You can also check Scheduler, our Scheduler feature has only a function to manage the operating days and times of your chat widget.

Let’s say you’ve scheduled your widget to appear online from 9 AM – 5 PM, if you log in before 9 AM, you can still monitor your visitors without receiving any chats. However, your chat widget will stay offline and the visitor will get the offline form.

The same thing happens when the clock hits 5 PM. Even if there are agents online, the chat widget is forced to go offline.

Lastly, make sure tawk.to code is available.

    1. Log in to the Dashboard at https://dashboard.tawk.to
    2. Click the Admin gear icon at the bottom of the left sidebar
    3. Select Chat Widget>Copy the Widget code
    4. Add the code to your site HTML (before the tag)
