In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneYou say :
When you install version 6.0 or higher, data from the old Links Manager is converted to a new data format, and the new Links Manager is hidden. Old shortcodes from Link Library will still work to display links. A new widget has been created. It does not work exactly like the old one, but it is possible to do something similar with some configuration.Data is not converted. Data looks gone.
I get it again by de-installing Links Manager, and making my menu visible again with inlog in the database.I do not use the widget, I use a page.

In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneI gave up. At least at this moment. Did a lot of testing. This all cost too much time.
It is even difficult with versions of the older pluging.
And decided at this moment to keep the old version.
In the latest “oldversion” the recaption does not work.
So I had to look for a version where it did, but than other things does not work.
Just choosing version with the least problems.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneI made pictures from what happend. And did look in the database at link_manager_enabled:
Please look at:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TK97e-bz4R9yLOJx9DGEzzepHeRDUj9ASo activating link library plugin puts link_manager_enabled to 0

If for some reason it also removes the Links menu item, just re-set that field in the options database once after deactivating Link Library and never reactivate it.I did it again
Punt link_manager_enabled to 1
Activated link library plugin,
And that puts ink_manager_enabled to 0
That is not good.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneBut is is not the solution.
EVery time I deactivate the links library My menu option in my WordPress menu is deleted again.
So this is not my original installation for the menu.
It disappeares again.in the (wp_)options table is 0 again after deactivating your plugin link library

In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneYou wrote : The thing is, since WordPress 3.5, the Links Manager is hidden by default in new installations of WordPress
That is totally not true. I have serveral older installations, and all have Links Manager. As a result of your comment, I even created a subdomain and tested it. And still the links are standard in the menu.
Installing your plugin changed that. I did nothing else.
I just want my standard installation back for the links.
As in other installations. when I switch off link library there I just get left again in the standard wordpress menu. And that is the same option that was included in the WordPress installation, as far as I can see.
And Iám not a programmer. But if I understand it then I can adjust something.

In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneI just want the original WordPress installation back, where links are in the menu. Not an other plugin, just the original wordpress installation.

Link Library did not corrupt anything.
If you were only using the Links menu and the links widget, then you were actually not using Link Library plugin, which Link Library extended.
You were actually only using the built-in core WordPress Links Manager.Reaction :
That is not true or I do not understand you.
All what happened was :I used link library for about 1 year in this WordPress configuratio.
If I wanted I could deactivated, and would just have the “normal WordPress configuration links)
I could activate link library, and then I would have link library working with the same links. After installing the new version, All links and menu were gone.
And after deactivating and even fiscally removing link library, All links and menu are gone.
Or at least they are not visible. And if they are there, I cannot see them. because The menu option is lostSo you cannot day that ink Library did not corrupt anything.

In reply to: [Link Library] Installing plugin ruins wordpress installationForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneWhen I deactivate link library plugin to see if I could have my basic links manager again. That was not the case.
So I activated plugin link library plugin again, and now all links I saw the first time are gone.
And they do not show on the website any more. This does not looks like a very stable plugin now.

In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneAfter I saw the problem: no links I First I deactivated the link library plugin.
Because I am used to seeing the normal state of wordpress after deactivation.
And I have always understood that WordPress is set up in this way.
That the plugins can not intervene deactivated anywhere in the basic system. And when deactivated, the standard situation should be activated again. But I did not get my links back, and that’s why I completely removed the plugin.
I have not done anything with the database myself
And do not even know how I should do that for this websiteI understand from your response that I can not get the WordPress links back?
Only your via your plugin active? After re-install the old version, I can see my links and menu again.
Sorry, but i thing that is not right. Plugins can not change your default installation of WordPres anyway.
You just have to get back the standard installation when you deactivate a plugin.
And now this is not so.I just want to keep my basic settings. So that I still have everything when you switch off the plugin.
So that I can go back to the basics in case of problems. Or can work with another links plugin if I want to.But that is not possible?
After re-install the old version I can see the links and menu again.
update to version 6.1.x
Then I did update to version 6.1.x,
Now I see the menu option link library
but all links have disappeared.I do not see links in my dashboard
But I do see categories in my dashboardWhen I deactivate the plugin, the menu option to the links has also disappeared again

In reply to: [Link Library] After update all links are goneThanks for responding so fast.
In the new version I did not see any link.
I deleted everthing, deinstalled it, and removed it totally.
And now I do not have the link option in my WordPress dashboard menu any more.
It did change the WordPress installation.
And I do not see my links in the website any more.
First I want just the normal link functions back in WordPress.
