    I think the error was unrelated to the plugin and caused by something else. Please ignore this support request.

    I ran repair and optimize for all tables in the site’s database as per the article.

    The same to problems persist:
    1. WooCommerce database update in progress notices doesn’t go away.
    2. Unable to add a WooCommerce category. Error message “Could not insert term taxonomy into the database.”

    If I filter under WooCommerce > Scheduled Actions for “woocommerce_run_update”
    there are these two tasks:

    woocommerce_run_update_callback:
    'update_callback' => 'wc_update_650_approved_download_directories'
    and
    'update_callback' => 'wc_update_651_approved_download_directories'

    If I run anyone manually, it’s spawns more of the same task.

    I can also see there are 130784 Pending scheduled actions in total.

    WC Error Log
    This is the error log for today, after I ran the database optimization and repair, tried and failed to add a WC category, and ran the scheduled update manually.

    A suggestion: Perhaps show a notification in the WP Admin Dashboard that cURL needs to be enabled for the Broken Link Checker plugin to work?

    At the moment when cURL isn’t enabled, the plugin reports hundreds of broken links. To a less technical person it seems the site is broken with no indication how to solve the issues.

    This is very helpful thank you. I’ll be in touch with the host and comment here when resolved.

    Thank you for the response.

    I’ve also brought it to the developer’s attention here:
