In reply to: [iMasters WP FAQ] iMasters WP FAQ and Multisiteok back again, I’m not quite as crazy as I thought I was !!. The issues seems to be that some users can see it and some can’t? The three I’ve tested it with, all have the same role on their site can’t see anything obvious different between them, yet one has the option to use the plugin and the other two don’t any ideas on what I should be checking or anything else?

In reply to: Role permissions query – multi-siteJust looked at the one you recommended Andrea.. looks like that will do the trick ??

In reply to: Role permissions query – multi-siteThanks guys I’ll have a look at those, I probably didn’t explain myself properly though, I don’t need it on a “site by site” basis. Basically each subsite will have just one user who will be an editor, which is where I want slightly different privilages than the standard editor.
I’m usually just a try it and see type of person but not being familiar with multi-site I’m afraid of breaking it ?? I was looking at adminitize in conjunction with some role plugin.. do you think that might be suitable for multisite?
tks

In reply to: sub domain queryThanks, thought I was missing something obvious ! ??

In reply to: sub domain queryCreating mydomain.com/subdomainname will cause problems with WordPress.
Why would that cause probs with wordpress? It’s just a folder off the root? Is it just because of the name or are you saying any extra folders now will cause probs?

In reply to: sub domain querytks, but I really needed each of the subdomains to have their own copy of the script.. but look I can work around it I suppose by creating folders.. mydomain.com/subdomainname and put it in there ! the main thing is each subdomain owner needs a copy of it.

In reply to: sub domain queryThanks Andrea, ok that kinda messes up what I had in mind to do LOL.. I would basically need to be able to install a script (which works off a mysql database) for each of the subdomains, (but in a separate folder) so subdomain.mydomain/folder with the script in /folder. Are there any workarounds for this do you think?

In reply to: sub domain queryYou would need to create the subdomains manually and point them to the public_html folder
tks if I point them to the public html folder how do I add files just for that subdomain? does that not mean that all files will be in the main public html folder? for example if I wanted to add a script for one of the subdomains?

In reply to: Multisite subdomains without wildcards on GoDaddy: possible?add subdomain.
Note : keep in mind to change destination to specifc folder. This is the bit that’s getting to me.. I’m not quite sure exactly what that means, when I go to setup a subdomain under where you add the subdomain it says this
Specify path for files : /www/ Leave blank for default path
Is this what I change and if so what do I change it to? or do I leave blank as it states as I normally would when setting up a sub domain?
tks

In reply to: sub domain queryjust found the answer in the welcome message ?? they are virtual sub domains so if I’m reading that right I will need to manually create them in CPanel as well if I want to install other files such as other scripts etc.. on that subdomain
