In reply to: [BP Multi Network] [Plugin: BP Multi Network] Members show up on other sitesI know what you want but think about it. How would that be possible?
A member would have to be visible on a site to be friended.
Of course a member can belong to multiple sites but they would have to creat friendships on each site, unless some really cool code was used to create them automatically…

In reply to: [BP Multi Network] [Plugin: BP Multi Network] Members show up on other sitestgarmon,
You might want to open a separate post for the group forums issue as that is not related to this post.
Groups are a pain with BuddyPress in MultiNetwork format. I found that I had to ‘trick’ the installation to get it to work properly.
Here are the steps that I used. Keep in mind this is with the Brajesh Singh version of BP Multi Network;
1) Installed BuddyPress but did not edit wp-config.php to enable multi blog. This means that BuddyPress installs at the Network level.
2) Network Activated BuddyPress and ran the configuration also at the Network level.
2) Ran the Forum configuration and copied the bp-config.php to htdocs
3) Enabled BuddyPress Multi blog.
4) Installed BP Multi Network (Brajesh Singh version)
5) BuddyPress config now shows up at the site level
6) Rereun BuddyPress config and repair missing pages if necessary. Running the config deletes all of the pages so they have to be recreated manually. Now you have BuddyPress and Groups that are completely separate for all subsites. The subsites can have different themes and users are not visible between sites.
Hope this helps.

In reply to: [BP Multi Network] [Plugin: BP Multi Network] Members show up on other sitesI ended up using this free plugin, https://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-multi-network/ when I could not get BP Multi Network to work.

In reply to: [BP My Home] No BuddyPress submenu BPMH ManagerCool, thanks for looking at it. I have this configuration as I want to have separate BuddyPress network, which the BuddyDev BuddyPress MultiNetwork plugin allows for…
My setup was to install BuddyPress in the primary site, activate groups, enable multiblug and the configure on a site by site basis. All of the BuddyPress menus are at the subsite level.

In reply to: [Networks for WordPress] Networks of NetworksI mean that when you activate Networks for WordPress at the top network level and then create a new Network, if you activate the Plugin in that Network would it be a nested Network.
1) Primary Multisite (Site A) has Networks for WordPress activated.
2) New Site (Site B)( is created
3) At the Netowrk Admin level in Site B if Networks for WordPress is activated can the Network site have sub Network sites?I know this sounds confusing!

In reply to: [Networks for WordPress] Networks & BuddyPressHere is how I resolved this problem:
1. WordPress with Multisite enabled and configured.
2. At the Network level install BuddyPress but do not edit wp-config to enable multi-blog. This means that BuddyPress install at the Network level for the primary site.
3. Network Activate and run the BuddyPress configuration.
4. Run the Forum configuration,
4a. Copy bp-config to your root folder (the same one that wp-config is in) ? not sure about this….
5. Enable BuddyPress multi-blog https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/developer-docs/using-multisite-with-buddypress/bp_enable_multiblog/
6. Optional: For my installation I wanted completely separate BuddyPress sites on the sub sites so I installed BuddyPress Multi Network (Brajesh Singh version) https://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-multi-network/
7. Rerun the BuddyPress config after recreating the pages (which are deleted during the MultiNetwork install).
8. You know have subsites with groups, forums and activity streams that are completely separate, but, for BuddyPress Multi Network future groups and forum plugins can be problematic with bleeding between the sites..IMHO, this is a complicated setup requiring lots of testing.Test, test and then test again.
Let me know if this works for you.

In reply to: [Bebop] Trouble getting Twitter workingDale, you wrote:
Okay, I see, each user enters their Twitter credentials on the Twitter site, not the WP/BP site…
I’ll write up some documentation for the github site.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Bebop] Trouble getting Twitter workingAh, wait. I was able to get it to Authorize! I can see my Tweets!
However, Bebop does not work with Twitter the way I thought it would. I expected users to be able to enter their Twitter handle and have their tweets come into their or the sites Activity Stream.
Is that possible? Right now it seems that only one user will work at time?

In reply to: [Bebop] Trouble getting Twitter workingDale,
The Twitter app was set to read only. I changed it to Read and Write but we won’t be writing to Twitter anyway, correct?
Also, the callback URL. What should that be? I try to enter just the domain name it does not save it.
Under Callback URL The Twitter site says:
“OAuth 1.0a applications should explicitly specify their oauth_callback URL on the request token step, regardless of the value given here. To restrict your application from using callbacks, leave this field blank.”[ Signature moderated. ]
