Update: through various support posts, I was able to find solutions for every issue I encountered. It took a lot of digging around, but all seems to be working fine. In case anyone else has any problems (even though it all seems pretty basic now that I’ve figured it out).
My alternate feed was displaying a 404 error. I just had to update my feed by changing how many it would display (from 10-11) and updating my settings. This refreshed my alternate feed.
I then had to go into mailchimp and change the URL on my RSS campaign.
My pictures were still displaying large and in their original alignment (they WERE within my template at least). I changed the scale by making sure the picture itself wasn’t over 740 px (they were both at 1000).
Alls well that ends well.
