In reply to: Images Not Showing in The ColumnistNo, it does not ask for source. The directions say to paste the URL of the image into the box. This is all the url shows. No .jpg

In reply to: Theme editor problemSorry that happened to you. You needed to create a child theme so you can edit to suit your needs. Did you download a back up of the site files? Yours are still there, but because you edited the functions.php incorrectly, they will not show and you got the error message. If you do have the files backed up on your computer, and you can ftp to your server, you can just ftp the functions.php to the server under content / themes/theme name.
Can you contact you hosting company and tell them the problem. Most will restore for you.

In reply to: Custom Header Image sizesYes the support team for themeforset themes are usually pretty helpful. I have used many themes from them. Actually most of them you can create any size header image you want and just upload it. However, 600 pixels high is a pretty big image. You will probably throw off all the other coding on the page by using that large an image.

In reply to: Color EditingYou can download FIREBUG for Chrome and Firefox. I find this very helpful to see and edit the code right then and there. It doesn’t change the style sheet, but you copy the code changes you make and then paste them to the style sheet.
Good luckI will try a solution for you. Go to slideshow setting and under slide behavior setting check “Exclude featured images from slideshow”
Then go to your media library and open image. There will be a check box to “exclude the image from Portfolio slide show you can check.
Hope that works for you.
Good luck.Have you gone into the slide show setting section to set up the way you want your slide show to run? Check there first to see you have it set the correct way.
Good luck.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: HELP!!!!!! Problem with Twenty Eleven backgroundAnd just how do I accomplish that? I am just using the Twenty Eleven theme that I have used wit a dozen other sites and no one has told me it wasn’t working properly.
I created a child theme for use with each site and the all basically use the same style.css so how would I compensate for older versions.
I did the Validation and only found 9 errors all relating to what it calls obsolete elements in html5. Again, only just using what wordpress / theme shows on its tool bar to center etc.
Thanks All

In reply to: DYNAMIC HEADERS in Twenty ElevenHi
I wanted to use the dynamic header in the header. I have used it before in other sites I have done. I placed it in the header code where I have before and it messed up the page. I could not get back into my site. I had to ftp a new header.php to get back in.I finally gave up and just put a featured image on each page. But I still want to know what went wrong.
Another post said to put it after “Houston we have a new….<?php if(function_exists(‘show_media_header’)){ show_media_header(); } ?>
That’s what gave me the error.
thanks

In reply to: DYNAMIC HEADERS in Twenty ElevenCan’t anyone please give me a simple answer on this.
thank you!
Did you set your thumbnail size in NExt Gen Gallery Options? Go there and try setting them to say 100 x 100. It is taking whatever image you uploaded and making it fit the default I am guessing. Good luck

In reply to: Settings for Navigation Menu in 2011Yes I know it is a formatting issue.
I did use Firebug and it shows it to be navigation. But I don’t see anything about spacing for right and left margins. I don’t do alot of coding so I may be missing it. I just changed the link name so it fits in now. The problem of the line going over to a second line only happens because the LINK goes BOLD when clicked on to that page and that moves the text.
Thanks for your help.
