In reply to: Do unused plugins use resources? If they are activated they do. I doubt that is the cause of your problem, but most will use resources if activated.

In reply to: Changing Header in Default ThemeThe simplest way would be to change the name of your custome header image to kubrickheader.jpg and overwrite the existing jpg in the images folder…then you wouldn’t need to change any references.

In reply to: An unlcean move to a new domainYou wouldn’t want to change your dir path to a www path, but, yes, your idea is correct. Go through the database and change all references from:
usr/local/4admin/apache/vhosts/dkeener.com/httpdocs/keenstuff/blog/wp-content/uploads/
To whatever the new path is.

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Complete Newbie in need of simple answers1. Yes, WordPress is a single blog application. There is a WordPressMu (multi-user) that allows you to host other blogs like on WordPress.com. That site is at: https://mu.www.remarpro.com
2. Yes, if you are a really good web developer and can get your “hands dirty” in the code. If not, I don’t know of a simple way of doing this.
3. Yes. Just a word of caution though…WordPress (the single user version that is provided and supported on this site) is relatively simple to install and use. WordPressMu is a bit more difficult, so you will need better than average tech-skills (and a dedicated, or at least virtual, server) if you plan to host an mu site.

So…can you provide a few more details?

In reply to: Move Post To TopSounds like you may be setting the time stamp into the future. If you do that it will disappear from the blog (until that future time), but remain in the admin area.

In reply to: Moving my WordPress blog to my own server using WPDo you have access to your public_htm directory where you host your blog? If so, that should be where your copy of WP is installed.
All you need to do is upload your theme (unzip first or after you upload–if you have Cpanel it should be easy to unzip after upload) to the wp-content/themes folder and then log into your blog and select it in the admin area.

In reply to: Changing page width, Arts Emerging ThemeNot familiar with that theme, but based on my experience with other themes, I would say No. Change it and test it.
