I also would like this type of setup.

When managing a gallery you can select all the photos using the checkbox. Then in the dropdown list you can select Resize Images. It will resize all images using the settings in the Images tab within options.

This would be nice to have – I would also be nice after an image is resized to still have the original image. Use the smaller resized images for sifting through the gallery – but still have the original if someone would like to download it.
