Deactivating and then updating worked for me as well.

No, Just deactivate the plugin and click on update now.
It worked for me.

This is a bug and plugin author is working on it to resolve.

@takayuki: yes it has been the problem of theme. when I switched to twenty eleven theme, it worked absolutely fine. I am using Mangos theme (its a compulsion for me. I tried to tweak it but it was not fruitfull. So can you please do me a favour to tweak it. Since you are the author of this plugin you may know where the problem arises.
