In reply to: wordpress updateesmi,
Thanks for your help.
I have no idea why, but I can now edit my pages even with “trash” highlighted.
This thread will now be marked as resolved.

In reply to: wordpress updateI am web editor for two (2) organizations and also have a localhost wordpress site on my computer all with this same problem.
If any wordpress expert can point me to the file where I can turn the “trash” option off, that would help immensely.
Being able to edit my sites is more important to me than all the bells and whistles that screw everything up.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wordpress updateI have done that. Problem still there

In reply to: wordpress updateIt makes no difference which of the four I click on.
The result is the same, blank page.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wordpress updateAfter logging in to the Dashboard and while editing pages, I move the mouse pointer over the page that I would like to edit. Four (4) choice words appear beneath the page name and one (1) of these is the word “trash” which should only be highlighted when the mouse pointer is over the word “trash”.
Unfortunately, the word “trash” stays highlighted all of the time and when I click on the page title, the page is blank because the contents automatically go to the trash or some other secret place.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wordpress updateAs I said three posts ago, I switched themes and it did not solve the problem. I tried TwentyTen at that time.
Now I have switched to TwentyEleven, as you requested, with the same result.
You can take a look and see what you think.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: wordpress updateBecause that is common sense to me.
Changing the theme did not solve the problem.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wordpress updateThanks for the response, esmi.
The very first thing I did was to delete all plugins.
It made no difference.
I will try switching themes, but since I deleted all plugins they can not be the problem.
Since my site has been working perfectly for years, I would suspect the latest update or perhaps a “buggy” Auto Updater.
Will let you know more after the change of theme.Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: logging into domain results in "Index of ".Just talked to my host.
He looked at my file structure and noted some errors, like the wordpress file being in the wrong folder.
I will make the corrections he suggested and close this topic as being resolved.
Thank you for taking the time to help this old-timer.Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: logging into domain results in "Index of ".OK. I will do that and report back.

In reply to: logging into domain results in "Index of ".I presume it was uploaded with the rest of the files from my localhost site because it looks identicle.

I typed it exactly as you stated and now I get “Internal Server Error”.
I have used the instructions to transfer my site from “https://blog.triphp.com/how-to/how-to-move-wordpress-to-a-new-server-or-host.html” and have done it 3 times to be sure I did it right with the same result.
I notice there are some differences in file structure between my localhost server and my remote server.
At this point, I am so confused, I do not know what to do.
I will try whatever you suggest.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: image loader not workingPlease ignore previous question.
The problem was solved by uploading the images to the server again.
I do not understand why I had to do this, but it solved the problem of having a white rectangle in place of the image.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Options to enable/disable post revisionsAs a member of the silent majority, I want to thank all of the people that were unselfish enough to create a software program like WordPress that is available to everyone at no charge.
It is not perfect, like some of the negative whiners, but will improve with age.
The post revisions are a great addition and have saved me more than once.
Keep up the good work.
