I think something is broken inside of the plugin.
My admin user name is not “admin”, and I’m confident people aren’t trying to log on with it continuously every day. But I’m hammered with Site lockout notification e-mails, and am often prevented from logging in to my own website because of the plugin.
I don’t know if there’s a conflict with another plugin, or if some other stuff is afoot.
Suffice to say I’d like to get this sorted too. I like knowing that I have more security, but the constant warning e-mails that seem unrelated to any real life activity and being locked out of my own website (unless I disable the plugin using FTP), is getting to be annoying.

I just discovered I can hide WordPress SEO from selected post types on the settings page. Though I still can’t change the default order to make the WordPress SEO box appear at the bottom of the meta boxes. And I’d still like that.
+1 to this. I too love WordPress SEO, but have issues with the way it forces itself to the top of all meta boxes. Whether I use Magic Fields or Advanced Custom Fields, the WordPress SEO box appears above my custom fields, which is NOT the way I would like it to be.

In reply to: WYSIWYG does not load wp-tinymce 500 internal server errorI’ve just had a similar problem and solved it by doing a recursive chmod 755 on wp-includes.
Maybe that will work for you too.

Yeah, this has been doing my head in too – it ruins the posts display. Strange decision to turn it on by default.
About techgodown’s solution. That’s great, though it only works for the user which you are currently logged in with. So if you apply that fix thinking it will apply to all users of the system, you are mistaken.
Seems like the best bet is to wait for an update. Let’s hope they wise up and create an option to remove it. I see no use for them.

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?I’m not sure this was already mentioned, but one of my big frustrations with the WordPress editor is that something as simple as separating one paragraph into two can be too much for this little editor. I put the cursor in the paragraph, press enter. Everything is fine. But then I switch between modes and all of a sudden I see that the two paragraphs have been merged into one.
The editor is seriously lacking and I do agree with Creative-i that it’s really surreal that so many users have accepted this editor for so long and making so little noise about it.
I look forward to seeing the updated editor. A lot! ??

Thank you for the info, Tobias.
For now, I will go with Leon’s solution which worked beautifully.
Thanks to the both of you

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?I don’t get it either, Creative-i. But the fact remains that the entire WordPress community is ignoring this very serious problem. I don’t believe they can be ignorant of the problem, so they probably just don’t know how to fix it. That’s unfortunate for us. And a huge pain in the ass for our customers.

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?uwiuw: I don’t know what I could show you really… If you are asking for a WordPress login, I’m afraid I can’t give that out to just any helpful person on the forums. These things are sensitive. For the time being, I’m placing my bet on Otto. ,-)

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor? After 6 months of absence from this thread I return and see nothing of significance has happened. That was a little disappointing.
It seems that this must be a very technically challenging task – much more so than all the other bells and whistles that the WordPress developers have introduced since last it would appear. Otherwise my take is that they would have fixed this a long time ago. Surely they must be aware of it. This problem has, aside from the permalinks implementation, been the biggest downside to WordPress ever since I started using it.
WordPress developers seem to be pretty active elsewhere on the forum so why not here? There’s this guy named Otto? Where are you Otto? Come and help us out please .-)

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?I too have this problem and it’s a huge problem. My clients don’t understand anything when this stuff happens. Of course not – it shouldn’t happen.
This needs to be fixed ASAP. It has been overlooked for years.

Obviously, “include_string” in 2nd code segment is meant to say “include”.
