I got this resolved – it turned out it’s not possible to have the shop on the front page itself. The shortcode can only be used in other pages or posts. I assume I must have missed this part of the instructions, but in case someone else stumbles upon the same problem, I’ll leave the post up.

Do you have any estimated time of release for that, or any possibility to get a beta version of it? It would really make my day! ??

Ah, yes, you’re absolutely right! One of the files included by the functions.php had two extra lines after the closing ?> tag. Removing them fixed the problem.

(Several files were missing the closing ?> tag completely, but that didn’t seem to affect the situation at all.)

I don’t know what country’s legislation you work under, but where I live, adding a link to someone else’s content is perfectly legal.

Perhaps I wasn’t making myself clear. I don’t want to reproduce anyone’s complete content, i want to use their title and 3-4 sentences to link to their own site.
