    Update:

    As mentioned five days ago I deactivated the plugin and deleted the 3.1.1 files. Missing the simplicity of “Site Stats”, today I decided to try and install version 3.2 as a “fresh” install as opposed to the upgrade path tried before.

    The 3.2 install worked perfectly.

    Hope that helps !?! – db

    * update: there has been a change in that today the link content does NOT appear at all, while yesterday the links were present, but large… regretfully, did not capture the large fonts via screen shot ;(…

    and here is a link to a screen shot of what the site looks like w/OUT ERPW plugin:
    ( https://www.effetti.co/?p=351 )
    * using standard “Recent Posts” widget only with modified “Title”

    Hi, Kathryn;

    I appreciate the note, thank you, a great week your way !!!

    If I may ask here; is there a way to reverse the stacking order of the links, so that the oldest link is the one at the top, and the most recent is the one at the bottom ? ?…

    I am writing a book about sales and selling, and want my test readers to be able to easily find the introduction, then read the remaining sections linearly, if they want… i saw a reference to this possibility, but i can’t seem to find the “switch” within the dashboard ?? !!! – db

    Hi, Duane; appreciate the note, thank you.

    It seems that WP 4.0 has created a bit of a support storm as well… it generally hasn’t been a good couple of weeks for rocket related projects ?? !?! – db

    Update:

    1) can be resolved by following this path => Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Sidebar ( or other widget location ) > Recent Posts > Edit

    enables both the number of visible post links, as well as the “Title” to be changed, so that “Recent Posts” can be customized to something of your choice.

    ~ still looking for resolutions on #2 & #3. – db

    ~ determined to find something, i kept looking, and found a solution here:

    Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Sidebar ( or other widget location ) > Recent Posts > Edit

    enables both the number of visible post links, as well as the “Title” to be changed, so that “Recent Posts” can be customized to something of your choice.

    hope that helps ! – db

    Hello, Arteyin;

    Appreciate your note, thank you !!

    Yes, as a follow up to your suggestion I removed the embedded code from the “Visual” view within the editor, and inserted same into the “Text” view of the editor and then re-“Update”d the page. The map is now showing.

    Thanks again ?? !!! – db

    Hi, Jeremy; I understand what you are saying, thank you.

    The site is hosted at Rackspace ~ What I don’t understand is why an “update” would be bigger than the original plugin, which loaded very quickly and without problem. – db

    Hi, Kathryn;

    Appreciate your note, and kind words of encouragement, thank you !!!

    Honestly, I am struggling with choosing how deep to go here. I made the mistake of accepting an upgrade request to Jetpack 3.2 and lost functionality of 3.1.1 in the process. I was enjoying some of the features, but hadn’t even gotten to modifying the footer yet. The bigger issue, for me, is that I much prefer problem sets that have to do with humans, or 3 dimensional physical objects over problems viewed on a screen.

    This “democratized” tool set is a very interesting concept due to the different levels of capability, time and interest that different people have. Everyone is far from being the same. The concept of broad availability is simple, but making it actually work is the hard part, AND a lot of work.

    Thanks goodness you are who you are, you do what you do, AND you like it… thanks again ?? !!! !!! – db

    Hello, Jeremy; I appreciate your note, thank you.

    Regretfully, this is not my area of expertise. I may get to that, but need to focus elsewhere at the moment.

    For the time being I deleted the 3.1.1 version of the plugin from my dashboard, and may wait for a more stable version that I can simply reinstall.

    Having a “democratized” offer is an interesting concept. While I understand the fact that there is an educational component involved in virtually everything, there are different types of people, with different interests, capabilities, capacities and willingness within the broader set of people that the offer is intended to be attractive to. Designing and implementing to a truly broader audience is the tricky part ( and a lot of work ) to effectively producing happiness.

    Thanks again, best !! – db

    Hi, Kathryn;

    Back after setting up a new email address and new WordPress.com account. I like how Jetpack knew almost instantly that there was a new account to connect to, and had already selected that account as the account of choice for the connection.

    I am now off and running in terms of having the ability ( but not yet the competency ?? to use Jetpack to enhance the look and feel of my site, thank you… yikes… now the real work begins ?? !!! – db

    For Anyone Else: If you are reading this as a way to research customizing the look and feel of the search function within your site, and specifically removing the search box, then there are several places on the “Appearance” > “Widgets” page of your dashboard where the “Search” widget shows up… you will need to check all of those locations to ensure that the settings are set to “Inactive Widgets” in each location. Hope that helps.
