I had this problem too and was unable to find a solution anywhere. But I did in the end discover the solution so came here in case my solution might help anyone else. I updated to the latest version of WP by going to my host and then “Fantastico’. After upgrading there I got a message to do various things one of which was:

– delete all the files listed in /home/mydomain/public_html/fantastico_fileslist.txt

I deleted it using file manager.
This has got rid of the problem. Might not for you but I hope so!

I am having a similar problem. I can’t install WP although database details are correct in config.php. Please tell me what to do as support at my host doesn’t seem to understand the issue. I first installed using Fantastico but that installed but without an RSS folder. Host had no idea what I was on about so I said I would install manually and see if that helped. But it won’t install manually at all.

OK I have now managed to get the feed to point to the correct blog but I am having to use the default rss link because FB says it doesn’t validate. Any ideas to help solve this problem?

The problem wasn’t fixed with this but it did give me a clue as to what might be wrong. I deactivated all the plugins then gradually reactivated them. It was a plugin causing the problem. Maybe this will help someone else.

I have a login problem too. I have reinstalled 3 times using the fantastico tool.

I tried requesting a new password but that was not sent to me. I went to the blog address and was not able to reach it.This message was given

Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.

There are not blocked cookies and I cleared my cookies to be sure.

Any ideas as to how to fix this.

If no-one can answer this does anyone know where I can get some urgent assistance? I am willing to pay for it.

When so many people are having a problem it seems very bossy and rude for others to say there is “invariably” a fault in the database set up.

I am unable to solve this I am sure it is al installed ok because i did it via my webhost using fantastico.I have several other blogs all installed in this way and all OK except this latest one. Any idea what can go wrong when installing via a host?
