Hi Stef,

I followed your directions and was not able to recreate the problem as, I think, part of the issue is how the ‘MyStile’ theme (a Sensei approved theme) interacts with Sensei. This is the first time I’m seeing this issue in the 8 years I’ve used Sensei. I’m also fairly certain that Sensei is triggering the “critical error” somehow.

I recently built a site for someone that used the 4.6.3 Sensei and a different collection of plugins and they experienced the exact same text I did at the bottom of their lesson and courses pages. Have you seen others with the same ver. of Sensei with the same problem?

I am the admin and it does send emails, however the information provided doesn’t assist in solving the problem. It simply says there’s a critical error on the site.

I did notice that when I chose to “unbox” the site content from the ‘MyStile’ settings panel, the lesson and course pages were no longer left justified. The content area was the same width, only now it was centered in the middle the screen. I’m leaning towards some conflict between MyStile and Sensei but have no way of investigating further.

Hi Stef,

The problem has evolved. I built the staging site as you suggested, upgraded to the newest version of Sensei and upgraded to the newer version of the BadgeOS plug-in. On the plus side, I can now add questions where I could not before. Not so good, none of the achievements show up as it appears the badge management system has been updated and no longer works with the previous method. That’s a whole different problem. So, I don’t know. It didn’t solve my immediate problem, though puts a path forward if I ever want to spend 30 hours rebuilding all of the achievements. It’s something for now.

I will look into doing this. I also remembered that I built a site for my wife who is also a teacher using the same Sensei version. She also had developed the same problem with adding questions… the exact same problem. She used to have the newer version of Sensei, but I rolled it back because of lessons not posting.

I have a dedicated server and can very easily make a stage site to work with. That’s a good idea. I will keep you posted.

I have a feeling that it’s a site specific issue. Perhaps an error or corruption of the data base that handles storing questions.

I have not updated Sensei due to previous updates not working with the Sensei-BadgeOS achievement and leaderboard plugin. The leaderboard is an important motivational tool and need it to function. Do you have any thoughts on that plugin’s compatibility with The newest version of sensei?

I converted from classic boxes to the current content boxes this morning with no difference in my ability to save questions.

I did not see any JavaScript errors noted.

Any additional thoughts?

Hey, Thank you!

I have not updated the Sensei version for fear of losing the ability to incorporate the BadgeOS plugin for Sensei – that provides the leaderboard tool and is a pretty big part of what I’m doing with my class. I will shoot a video of the issue tonight and have it posted by tomorrow for you to review. I greatly appreciate your help!

I’ll try a default theme and see what happens as well.

Greetings! I use the SENSI lms for my classroom site which has been great for the last few years. I have been looking to try to customize the instructional language more towards the theme I have for the class.

Sensei has a button on each of the lessons that states “view the lesson quiz”. I would like to know where the code is that I could change that button text phrasing into something else.
