In reply to: [Gutenberg] Remove/Reduce spacing between blocksSo the answer to the question, how do we reduce the space between blocks is?
I like it so were going to allow someone else to address the issue and not bother to help a brother out? Just saying that’s lame dude.
So in the spirit of actually being helpful.

In reply to: WordPress 4.4 XML-RPC Exploits Still NOT FixedThis issue continues, today, I saw 3 gigs of traffic all hitting my xmlrpc.php page, If I delete the page, usually the attacks cease, after seeing this issue for so many years I just have to ask Why can’t the wordpress team fix this problem?
They don’t care, ?
Not really sure but one thing I know for sure, I am moving away from wordpress because of this issue, other developers are also making this same move, why?
They don’t care to fix the problem, its not on their top list of issues…
Which tells you one critical thing about wordpress, if they are so busy fixing other more serious security problems, then when will they have time to improve the system significantly?
Answer they won’t.
Abandon all hope all ye who enter here.

In reply to: xmlrpc.php slow?these hangs are caused by a script (in this case xmlrpc.php) waiting on some other resource (a MySQL query, a network resource, etc.) and not having any kind of a timeout coded (or an extremely long timeout). The PHP max_execution_time never actually gets called because time spent waiting doesn’t count against execution time, seems like a real lack of coverage by the team, (understanding of course that they likely have lots of more important things to attend to) Still it seems like an oversight.

In reply to: xmlrpc.php slow? This is an ongoing problem, (ONE that has not bee sufficiently addressed by wordpress)
Today, I had 23 sites that had been attacked by using that same file, only this time it consumed memory, leaving my server out of memory, (I banned IP addresses, killed processes, now back to normal) but here is the thing that I do not understand.
Why is this still a problem?
Is it not time to drop this outdated and (badly coded page) sorry frustration, it makes no sense to have this problem after knowing its an issue for so many years, yet still its there?

In reply to: xmlrpc.php related attackThis issue has resurfaced as of 4.0
It is a huge issue, malicious scripts are using this to devalue and consume bandwidth which results in undesirable issues for wordpress users.
I did not see an entirely useful solution posted
@the Grey Parrots it appears the link for the reference of security was published a long long time ago.
“Working with WordPress version 2.8 at the time of this writing.”Does anyone have a more detailed method of managing this issue?

In reply to: [StickyADZ] doesn't workHi, sorry for the late reply, I did not get a notification of your post, the plugin works by applying a div tag to the widget area, for best results try using the plugin in the top widget area, with other content in an individual widget, also some themes apply different sidebar properties so if sidebar.php can create a condition where the plugin is loaded last, we will be doing an update soon to work with newer versions of wordpress and more themes.

In reply to: delete 100,000 images from media libraryyes, I see that it is still showing references in the database, thanks for the information, I appreciate that. I looked at some of the tables but I could not identify for sure which ones hold the reference data.

In reply to: Should abandoned plugins and themes be deletedOh, I see, yes, that would be a problem, it must be a huge database, with so much dead wood so to speak. thanks for replying, )

In reply to: Should abandoned plugins and themes be deletedInteresting, one of the things I was considering was that if you happen to want to develop a plugin with the same name as the one that is no longer being developed, I am guessing that you would not be able to use the same name, more so for the popular descriptive names.
Thanks for the reply, )
