What plugin are you using for password creation? Is it a standard WP one, or independent?

I noticed from the above article that WP uses MD5 to hash passwords. Is it still the case now? Can this be changed via any user-friendly method inside the admin panel to a different hashing function, such as Sha1, Sha2, Sha256 etc?

There is some third party software to resize images, though it is outside WP, but if you do it once, it may then save some processor power and traffic later. One of them was FSresizer

It can do a bulk resizing, conversion between formats and many other useful things.
