I’m getting the same error in Google Webmaster Tools.
Missing XML tag. This required tag is missing. Please add it and resubmit.

Thinking there was a post for that year month range, but it’s been deleted. Must still be in the database somewhere. Only thing i can assume is causing this problem. Otherwise the plugin is working fine on another blog.

Looks like Google will not index this sitemap with the error, waiting for me to correct the error and re-submit. Guess i will have to switch back to the last version of this plugin until i can figure out whats wrong.

I have requested support on this issue also. Never got a reply.

WPeMatico is a decent plugin, but FeedWordPress and it’s supporting plugins might be a better option. It does work well but somewhat sophisticated setting up it’s options.

I would suggest anyone running WordPress to set wp-config.php permissions at (600) Read and Write for the Owner only.

If you allow anyone to read your config file they can get your database name and password, and hack the crap out of your site!

FWIW, I have 34 WPeMatico campaigns running with no nasty grams from my web host. Though the CPU usage when running a campaign is really intensive.

To enable a feed source permalink, enable the post template at the bottom of the post campaign page. Then paste this in the text box:

This plugin does work well, but will not post a defined tag, and is really cpu intensive when running a campaign. Author has not responded to repeated requests to fix the tag issues that i feel is of major importance for SEO purposes.

FeedWordPress is another option, but you need it’s dupe check plugin FeedWordPress Duplicate Post Filter, and to add a permalink you need FWP+: Add Attribution by Charles Johnson: https://projects.radgeek.com/add-attribution-feedwordpress/

I have 34 campaigns defined in WPeMatico but are considering going back to FeedWordPress.

Note to anyone wanting to try FeedWordPress, You can not have FWP+: Add Attribution and WPeMatico active at the same time, Will prevent your site from loading.

No update is available in my dashboard – so it’s not resolved as far as I’m concerned. ??

Tried out the much hyped mobile theme last night. Embedded YouTube and Vimeo videos do not show. And the images are not aligned. Plus if you are using a landing page, there is no way to get to the blog posts or select category’s of postings. The only thing on the menus are pages.

Wptouch does a much better job as a mobile theme.

2.3.0 appeared fine until i logged off. Then all the main column displayed was the error Ciaomom pasted above.

I rolled mine back to a previous version and all was fine.

Fun.. Huh.. LOL!

I would suggest just sticking to writing to a .htaccess within WordPress. Writing to an existing .htaccess in the hosting account’s root could possibly hose something else up.

While we understand .htaccess many of the others who run WordPress do not.

Just my two cents worth ??

Forgot to say i created a blank .htaccess to continue the installation. The plugin activated fine that time.

Just a FYI: I just tried installing this plugin on another blog. When activating i got the following error: Visitor Maps Extended could not backup /home/content/53/9530553/html/naru/blog/.htaccess. The installation was terminated.

Maybe a check is in order to see if an .htaccess exists in the blog home directory, and if one is not found continue the installation. I have my .htaccess file in the hosting account root so it denies access to other services running, besides WordPress.

I think this plugin and especially the latest addition of IP and Referrer blocking is a great addition. Keep up the good work!

I just discovered that. But was not using a static home page.

Mine is working fine. There was also an upgrade for AIO SEO pack.

Yep it did that to me too. Using All In One SEO plugin.

I disabled the JP plugin and all was fine. But i like being able to view my stats in the dashboard. Plus being able to access my blog through my Android device.

I’m thinking Akismet is controlled through JP but will still be current if JP is deactivated.
