I would try accessing local webserver (root page/directory) to just to make sure if the https://internaldomainname/ accessible from other hosts if at all.

This does sound like an internal networking issue.

yes I got that working , however its not powered using the wordpress plugin but rather hardcoded using the standard JWplayer.

Checked, all the mp3 are linked and have valid urls .
