In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Forms no longer working after 4.9 upgradeSame here. WP 4.8.1, Contact Form 4.9.
Please fix ASAP. This is affecting several dozen sites on a multisite install.
Must be caching. Just checked and saw that Image Widget is gone completely, and so are the warning messages. Guess it’s resolved, then. Thanks! ??
They were logged in fine the first time. Then they logged out, and back in again very shortly afterward. I suspect the Protect plugin might’ve viewed this as brute-force attack behavior; hence the math question the second time. But that’s just my guess.
Do you *have* to log into our system to diagnose? I don’t mean to be difficult, but I’m really not at liberty to give that information outside our team.
I can’t give you the wp-admin URL, but I can give you the steps taken:
- Log in the first time OK; no math question given.
- Log out from wp-admin OK.
- Log in again shortly afterward; math question asked.
- Supply login name & password but skip math question.
- Press ENTER or click SUBMIT; she gets into wp-admin area OK.
One admin is having this issue; the other answered the math question and got in fine, which is expected. It doesn’t appear to be specific to any one site within the multisite network, nor is it limited any one browser. We tested in FF & Chrome.
I looked at the Jetpack Protect settings. “Block suspicious-looking sign in activity” is turned on, both at network level and site level. We have no IP addresses in our whitelist. In other words, we’re using the default settings.
I hope that gives you enough to go on. I’m about to head to a conference, so won’t be back until Monday.
Thanks again!
EddieAwesome, thanks! ??

Hello,
I am now experiencing the wordfenceURLHoover timeout issue. I have already tried all the workaround steps mentioned earlier:
- Disabling the two scan checkboxes (and clicking Save Options)
- Upping all 3 timeout settings from 30 to 60 (and reloading Apache)
…all to no avail. PHP version is 5.5.9, and upgrading to 7 may not be an option. I’d have to clear it with mgmt first.
Any chance this issue will be fixed soon?
Thanks, Eddie
We’re having the same issue here. Multisite install; only super-admins can upload WOFF (web font) files. We discovered this problem last Friday (10 Mar 2017).
At first, I thought it was because the MIME type had changed from application/x-font-woff to application/font-woff, and WordPress simply didn’t know what x-font-woffs were anymore.
But when I temporarily gave my colleague super-admin rights to the multisite network, she could upload her WOFFs once again. However, one other curious behavior: when I upload a font (I’m the super-admin), they’re correctly tagged as application/font-woff. When my colleague uploaded her WOFF, it was tagged as application/octet-stream.
From a security standpoint, I’m not comfortable setting ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS to true, and I certainly can’t just promote all our Admins to super-admins.
We need our regular Admins to be able to upload their own WOFF files just like they were doing about a month or so ago.
Thanks for replying. I was also Googling to make sure we are, in fact, using the correct mime type. We’ve been using
application/x-font-woff
, but now I’m seeing this post, suggesting it’s nowapplication/font-woff
.I am running 4.7.3 and just discovered today that we are no longer able to upload WOFF files, which we use heavily for minority-language text rendering.
I see from the description that this plugin was meant for 4.7.1 & 4.7.2, so I take that to mean I should not mix it with 4.7.3. (Plus, we’d really prefer to not have to add another plugin to our multisite anyway just to fix a bug.)
~ thx, Eddie
Appearance > Widgets
I have a screen capture, but this page won’t let me upload it. It only accepts image URLs on the web.
- Create a set of parent, child, sibling, grandchild, and great-grandchild pages (the more complex, the better the test).
- Create a new widget.
- Click Visibility.
- Select Hide, if Page is the Parent page.
- Select the Include children checkbox.
- Click Save.
Notice that just before the SAVE finishes, the Include children checkbox deselects itself. Then notice the new widget is hidden only on the Parent page, but none of its descendant pages. So I have to add each and every descendant page to the Visibility settings.
I don’t recall if the same behavior happens if you select Show instead of Hide. I generally hide more widgets than I show, depending on the page.

I’m having this same issue. I have a page with about 8 children pages. On all these pages, I want a specific text widget hidden. Selecting the parent page and “Include Children” checkbox does not work. As soon as I click SAVE, the checkbox deselects itself, and none of the child pages were impacted as desired. The parent page correctly updated, however.
So now I have to add each child page as its own visibility rule. I sure hope there isn’t a maximum on these.

In reply to: [Accordion Shortcodes] Markdown within [accordion-item] tags?Hi Phil,
Thanks for replying. Just now tried your suggestion, but alas to no avail. I guess I should try writing another shortcode to generate those lists instead of Markdown. Much appreciate your assistance anyway! ??
