In reply to: Inviting comments on jupiterthree.com>>> It’s not apparent that the tab for comments is a way to leave comments.<<<
I’ve been waffling on that. Its part of the aeros theme I used, but I have debated scrapping that piece. I also don’t like that if the comments are locked, I get such a big no comments section at the bottom of the singles page

In reply to: SchedulingThank you (I was looking for how others were doing it – wp-cron.php was what I needed).

In reply to: FMGames, my WordPress siteYou may want and ‘About’ page.

In reply to: Seeking input for Silver BladeYou may want to more prominently feature some of the content, or at least make it easier to find. I don’t generally look to the links list for the heart of a sites content, but rather for “if you liked this..” references.
I loved the look once I got off the main page.

In reply to: My health blogI like the subtle coloring and borders around each post.
I find the right hand column “busy”, and usually run away from sites that prominently feature Google Adsense that prominently. It always makes me question the value of the content.
An About page would be a helpful addition.

In reply to: A mix of pages and linksI wonder if I am being overly complicated in what I want to do.
Let me test another design direction: is there a way to have my front page only display posts with category ‘A’, and have a second page that only displays posts from category ‘B’?
I am trying to get one page of my posts, and another sepearte page accessible from the menu bar that only includes various book reviews I am doing.

In reply to: I don’t have FTP!You were right. I changed ownership to www-data and it worked fine.
I thought that by assign it to the www-data group and giving the group same permissions as owner, it would work the same. apparantly not, though I am not sure why.
Thanx for the help.

In reply to: I don’t have FTP!I tried an no go, still get the ftp page.
I chown to ed:www-data and chmod 775 for everything in the wordpress directory just to be sure, but it always takes me to the ftp screen.

In reply to: I don’t have FTP!I don’t understand how you are working without ftp running. When I try to download a plugin from worpdress, the install plugin screen asks me for login info, and requires I select ftp or ftps.
I do have root access, but prefer to give permissions to the webserver id for write permissions. The error occurs connecting to the server.

In reply to: [Plugin: Amazon Machine Tags] ErrorI have the same error, but I believe I am on a public IP.
ed4becky.dnsalias.org/jupiterthree is my dynamic site.
I map ed4becky.org/jupiterthree to it and map jupiterthree.com to ed4becky.org/jupiterthree.
I get a cannot fetch error like above.
Suggested trouble shooting approach?
