Unfortunately the plugin does not give you the ability to customize the text that appears in the share window when you click on the icons.
Many themes use the Category and Archives for their pages — try checking the Category and Archives and see if that causes the buttons to display on your pages. If so, it’s because the theme is treating them the same.
If you really want to display only on one and not the other and your theme is treating them the same, you could go to your theme template and use the manual embed function, or if you have relatively few pages (as most sites do) you could just use the shortcode for your pages.
I’m not seeing the problem — I see the Facebook button on even the most recent post. Is this something you’ve already resolved?
Well, Facebook would like you to just use their Like button (which is an option) and not the share button, which they have deprecated. The Like button will let users choose the picture to feature.
For the time being we’re leaving the share icon option in the plugin, since it’s so popular for blogs — but at some point I won’t be surprised if Facebook breaks it entirely, deliberately or accidentally.
There is not actually a technorati option — though I know there is a technorati button in there if you try to enter it, it won’t actually do anything.
If you want to set some up anything that is not on the list you will have to use the custom buttons and additional buttons option in the advanced section.
Yes they are.
It’s worth noting that all Google +1s are automatically tracked in Google analytics, with or without the plugin. The automatic +1 tracking from Google is available in the new version of Analytics, under Audience > Social.
We also just added the ability to embed a custom icon set of the Google +1 in with the rest of the icons. You can use “plusone” up on your icon list to add it in there. Note that the functionality is a little bit different using custom icons (certain features of the +1 button aren’t available to us when doing it that way), but you get your +1s.
Pinterest has now been added to the base plugin in version 1.3!
A new version of the plugin has just been uploaded that changes the credit link to off by default (as well as some other changes like including Pinterest).
We apologize for being unfamiliar with that guideline, which we absolutely should have; however, I do have a question about it.
The very popular Add to Any social icon plugin also includes a credit link by default (“by Lockerz”), and in fact I believe there is no way to even turn it off. By my understanding of the no external link without explicit permission guideline, this should not be allowed. Is this another case of not knowing (like ours) — or is there a loophole since the link only appears when you hover over the share bar (which you must to do use it)?
The footer link is entirely optional. You can turn it off simply by going to your Trackable Sharing admin where you customize your icons (found in the Plugins Menu, under Trackable Sharing).
Under “Show Your Support” just check No.
It is true that we do not provide phone support for our free plugin; however, we do provide free email support for the free plugin, which seems to us to be a pretty good deal.
Note this issue was resolved.
Marking this thread as resolved due to no feedback from poster.
Could you explain the problem that you’re having in more detail?
Specifically we need to know the version of WordPress, version of the plugin, the URL of your site with the plugin installed (so we can check for code issues in your template) and what admin settings you’re using (which pages you have checked for the icons to display on).
In general a good first step to take in troubleshooting when the icons don’t appear at all is to go to the Trackable Sharing admin and check every box under the “Display Buttons On” section — some templates use Category and Archive for the home page, for example.
This is untrue. In fact, the vast majority of sites using the plugin do not have the credit link enabled and the icons work fine. The credit is in no way tied to the functionality of the plugin.
If you can show us an example of where you’re experiencing this, we’ll be happy to try to find out what’s going on — but my hunch is that you also turned something else off in the admin, not just the credit.
Could you show me the page on which this is happening? Was this happening on every page? If so, was it trying to share the wrong URL? Was it happening with every social media type?
Very difficult to troubleshoot without the ability to see it in action.
