In reply to: Why plugins don’t workThank you! No, sure I haven’t looked up all of them yet but some of them I have. Maybe a bit later when there is enough time for testing another bunch of ‘wasteful’ code I’ll give them a try but now I cannot afford to do someone else’s job.

In reply to: Why plugins don’t workThe 1st point exactly the thing I asked for while starting this theme (I tried to do it on my own but…)
I still hope somebody will come across my topic and offer me a couple of plausible plugins which get along with new WP quite well. I needn’t a great deal of functionality, I would appreciate just a handful of shortcodes, but spoiler/accordions among them.In any case thank you for reply,
Rgards,

In reply to: Why plugins don’t workI asked them, they didn’t answer. Moreover, as you can see they haven’t updated their product for more than 6 months. So I suppose they are all dead.
As for the links it wouldn’t be of much help because we have remaked all pages with shortcodes. We cannot afford to wait for updating to turn up. Just believe they (shortcodes) don’t work anymore. And I suspect it’s WP who is guilty, not developers.

In reply to: Min code for custom full width blank pageYou are right. Thank you. I’ll get a try.

In reply to: Min code for custom full width blank pageThank you,
Yes, I’ve also thought so. But if I, in the end, find out that it is a plugin and that it is quite useful, how can I restrict its functionality? In order it doesn’t interfere with a new custom tempalte.
Thank you again,

That is what I wanted to hear.

In reply to: How to Make a Post InvisibleHow can I convert a published (yet delayed) post back into a draft?
And I suppose it could serve as a makeshift, second-best decision.
There is a need in much more durable solution. Have one?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How to Make a Post InvisibleJust a moment! I didn’t say that something doesn’t work (or work improperly), I said (meant) that standard functionality (if I know it well, I am not sure) of WP doesn’t fit my needs and asked to show me some hints/hacks if there are such which could be an answer. So do they exist?
Can’t believe that there is no way to make WP hide (completerly) some posts from other eyes.

In reply to: [MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress] Why MailChimp for WP?Oh! I say!
When to shout ‘Fire!’ is the only way to lure all ‘creepy-crawlies’ out of their trenches just do it. Well, put aside mutual obloquies, let’s get down to details.
Still… I haven’t yet understood some nuances regarding shortcodes. Am I right in my guesswork? Will all that the Tower of plugins be ruined in a moment just as I decide to reject further using of Mail Chimp for WP by one or another reason?
In any case thank you for patience,

In reply to: [MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress] Why MailChimp for WP?Well! Still nobody could tell why should I use plugin Mail Chimp for WordPress, so I suppose there are no obvious necessities to have one. Here we are.

In reply to: Best apps to run your WP locally?Why/how did you choose just WAMP? At that time there weren’t other compatible stacks, or something else may be?
I’m a newbie, I wouldn’t like to bog in all those settings, port permissions and so on.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Best apps to run your WP locally? No exact issue. I just try to choose for myself such an optimal local server for WP which wouldn’t be neither too complicated nor too primitive. I’m not a programmer, I don’t know languages, SQL, so I wouldn’t like, and cannot, to get too deep in the guts of the system.
I’ve read some article about this theme, including one at the WordPress site and still unresolved which one (from many enough) to choose. So my question may seem a bit obscure. Pardon me!

In reply to: Unyson for landpagesThank you! Interesting!
But I tried to find out how it [Unyson] could help if we are to use it on our own. Moreover, to what degree is the program user-friendly regarding we haven’t got any skills in coding?
We needn’t a whole theme built with this software all what we want is to make featured landings periodically (for some events; so those page will not be long-living).

In reply to: [Advanced Ads –?Ad Manager & AdSense] Site unavailableYes, thank you!
It seems v. 1.7.0.1 of the plugin works quite well.
For more confidence of the workability we first deleted previous version (via Admin panel, then out of the site’s directory) and reinstalled new one.
Hope that would be the end of our discontent.
