I’m having the same problem. I took a peak into the WXR file and saw my missing posts in there.

I should also note that in the log after import, WordPress seems to think those posts already exist.

ALSO…

After import when it spits out a log, some posts say that the post is already there, even though it isn’t. Those are the posts that go missing. It’s like WordPress thinks they’re there but they’re not.
