In reply to: [Barletta] Installation and plug-insHi Mooz,
I previously had another theme installed in my wordpres.org blog so I’m not sure if that’s the root of the problem, but when I install Barletta (BEAUTIFUL theme by the way), the right side bar shows up if I don’t actually make any changes at all, and the “Search” box and “Archives” list automatically shows up. I don’t know where to find these widgets as the editable sidebars, footers, etc, are empty when I open up the “box” (click the dropdown arrow), and I really want to move these around.
My other issue is that once I add widgets to the Primary sidebar, Footer Widget 1,2,3 and full width, not only do the widgets not show up, but I lose the Primary sidebar and none of my pictures show up anymore. I am at a lost so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Quick Cache (Speed Without Compromise)] Errors: unable to auto purgeI think I just fixed half the issue…permissions, as you said. On the above site I set the permissions to 755 for that folder and was able to clear the cache from the Dashboard.
However the first site (with the error logs posted in my first two messages) has its permissions set at the recommended 755 and continues to get the errors related to the auto-purge function. Hopefully its related to the same bug you mentioned and will get fixed in the next release.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Quick Cache (Speed Without Compromise)] Errors: unable to auto purgeHi, I’ve tried your advice of restoring and clearing manually, and even set the cache to expire after 2 days. I’ve played around with it and if I let the cache build for an hour or so I can clear it fine from the QuickCache dashboard. However even left sitting overnight when I try to clear it I get errors. Here’s the latest batch:
Warning: rmdir(/html/wp-content/cache/quick-cache/cache/http/www-filesnews-com/category/mma-combat-sports/page) [function.rmdir]: Directory not empty in /html/wp-content/plugins/quick-cache/quick-cache.inc.php on line 857

Also am unable to post, refresh my Jetpack publicize to Facebook connection, and other tasks until I deactivate QuickCache or clear the cache manually via FTP. Both sites were fine until the last update, and the one thing I can think of that they have in common is that they are both quite large sites (c. 1000 pages and posts each).
Any ideas? I really like the simplicity of QuickCache and don’t want to switch but I can’t be clearing thousands of cache files via FTP whenever I need to perform a simple task on the sites.

In reply to: [Quick Cache (Speed Without Compromise)] Errors: unable to auto purgeHi Raam Dev, thank you for your response.
This doesn’t seem to be a hosting issue, because these sites are on two different providers (bluehost and mediatemple) and the issues started at the same time on both after the recent QuickCache update.
Also QuickCache has no problem accessing the cache files when it needs to purge them after updating a post. Those operations show as successful so it would seem the permissions are correct. My best guess was that the operation is timing out when it tries to purge large amounts of files due to the massive amount of cache files generated by QuickCache.
I also can’t delete spam comments on either site now unless I do it one by one, which as suggested in another thread seems to be due to cache purging issues.

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Missing jpegtran, optipng, gifsicle?Thank you for your fast responses. I’m going to try another plugin for the time being, but if it doesn’t work out I will definitely consider trying the cloud version.
After disabling and re-enabling CloudFlare and purging the cache twice things seem to be back to normal on the homepage. So it does appear that after deleting the plugin it was just a caching issue, but still not sure what caused the errors to begin with.

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Missing jpegtran, optipng, gifsicle? It would seem deleting files and purging caches should be enough, since the errors are referring to files that no longer exist.
But just to be extra diligent I’m also wondering which database entries I can safely delete while keeping any pictures that I converted with EWWW intact?

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Missing jpegtran, optipng, gifsicle?Okay, so I deleted the plugin and also the ewww folder with the jpgtran, gifsicle etc. But now all the errors are displaying on my front end. Here’s the site if you’d like to have a look:
https://www.filesnews.com
Any way to fully uninstall the plugin or erase the changes it’s made? I’ve cleared the cache from my caching plugin and purged my cloudflare cache as well. Just want to get my site back to pre-plugin state now.
Thanks!

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Missing jpegtran, optipng, gifsicle?Hi, problem is back again today. Media Temple (my hosting provider) has told me that they won’t block any type of rewrite in php or htaccess, unless your plugin is running commands with root access which they don’t allow on grid servers. They also said there’s no issues with the server being out of memory at all. Any suggestions?

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Missing jpegtran, optipng, gifsicle? It seems to be back to normal again today (although I didn’t change anything), and webhost didn’t see any issues so I’m not sure what happened there. I’ll just mark as resolved and hope it continues working. Thanks!
Disabling Railgun has temporarily resolved the issue, but I still hope to be able to use that feature with Jetpack on MediaTemple. In the meantime I’ve filed a support ticket with CloudFlare referring to this thread. Please keep me posted if anyone finds a fix for this. Thanks!
I asked MediaTemple about the IPs but this is all they responded with:
“After investigating further, I have determined that this is a known issue with our security measures on the GRID. Our server administrators are looking into the matter but currently there is no ETA on the fix. In the meantime, it is recommended that you only enable CloudFlare if you do not intend to utilize the features of Jetpack.”
Any chance CloudFlare or Jetpack can work with them to get a fix going on this? They’re both pretty essential on many websites, not just the one we’re currently working on, so it’s really difficult having to choose one or the other.
MediaTemple says they do have mod_cloudflare installed on my server. I also have the cloudflare plugin for WordPress installed.
According to MediaTemple, they are still seeing it as a third party connection and blocking it through mod_security.
Any work-around for this besides choosing between cloudflare and Jetpack? According to MediaTemple there’s nothing they can do.
I’ve tried the various .htaccess tweaks posted on forums but MediaTemple overrides those too.
Thanks for the quick fix everything looks fine now!!
And hello @theburgernerd fancy seeing you here! ??
Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t see you had responded so quickly, thanks! The above suggestion worked perfectly.
