Just wanted to say that the network set up was pretty much a breeze. In fact, as I was going along I wasn’t even asked to distinguish between sub-domains or sub-directories. I think WordPress just sort of made it’s own decision about that. I now have a network on this site —-> https://www.davelife.com/ (a not so interesting personal blog I started but never kept updated). I set up two other blogs in the network https://testblog1.davelife.com and https://testblog2.davelife.com/

I noticed after setting up the network my template on the main site kind of went screwy on me and I had to reupload the template to make it look normal again. Could anything I did during setup cause the template on the main site to get messed up? Just wondering if that is a normal thing. I’m doing all this one one of my domains that I’ve now just started using for testing stuff and hate to have that happen again on my business site if I decide to change it to network set up.

I know this thread has been marked “resolved” but I had a question if it’s ok to ask…..

I’d like to know if using this plugin to create a multi-site network is any different than if you set it up manually by modifying the config file yourself?

I guess I’m wondering which is the best process for doing this?

I’d like to ask another question please.

When you choose your plugins for a new blog in your network do those plugins carry over the same settings for your previous blog(s) or can each blog that you choose a plugin for have different settings.

For instance let’s say you have BLOG A with a social plugin set up for sharing to twitter and stumbleupon. Then you set up BLOG B and choose that plugin but only want it set up to share to twitter? (hope that makes sense).

I had this same problem on a brand new wordpress install and this was the only plugin I had installed. I really wanted to use this at https://www.hatpit.com but if it can’t remember items in the cart from page to page then it is (hate to say it) useless. It was looking awesome for a minute until I had this problem.

Asking again incase someone comes by the forum who might know about this….. surely SOMEONE knows?

Are you sure it’s not your webhost instead of your plugin’s? I’ve got a pretty good number of plugins running and it doesn’t seem to slow my site down……… at least that I can tell lol…..

Just wanted to come back and mention a cool stats plugin called firestats… you can get it at firestats.cc or google it. It has a nifty widget to show visit counts and can even be set to not show your own personal visits so you get a better idea of how many people are actually visiting your blog.

blepoxp that plugin looks like what I’ve been looking for. I’m gonna give it a whirl on a new site I’m putting together.

Yeah I think he meant to change widecolumn to narrowcolumn…. that is what I did also.

I am getting this 500 Internal Server Error in my wordpress as well… except it happens when I’m doing different things…. trying to save a page or post after editing, trying to view my plugins, or just about anything I’m doing in wordpress….. it wasn’t doing this until I upgraded to 2.7. I wonder if there is anyone else having trouble with this 500 Internal Server Error?

I’ve been trying everything I could find on google that might fix this…. making sure the .htaccess file is ok, disabling all plugins, etc…. even with all plugins disabled I still get the errors. It’s getting really annoying!
