I was able to replicate the fault on the test website. All you have to do is press the refresh button a few times. It may not happen straight away, but it will happen. Both websites generate the fault in both online and within the dashboard. If you get one site to fail, then the other will fail immediately.

I have installed Jetpack on both sites. Even though I have generated several failures, Jetpack does not send me any email messages.

I don’t know why you say it isn’t a WordPress problem. Even though HostPapa claim they have 1000s of WordPress sites that function Ok, HostPapa have been very cautious about admitting that there is a problem at all but finally owned up that they could replicate the fault. I have also seen similar threads on this support forum. Eg “Error establishing database connection”.

By the way, HostPapa claim that they have 1000s of WordPress sites that do not have a problem.

The error log is empty.

I have had a long series of email exchanges with HostPapa. They have removed all sorts of security mods but the problem is still there. I have deactivated plugins and changed themes. I have even installed a fresh copy of WordPress at

This is the default WordPress installation using a default theme that displays “Hello World”. However, if I click enough links on this basic installation the problem still appears. The problem occurs in both the on-line site and within the dashboard.
HostPapa suggest I speak to WordPress Support. WordPress Support suggests I should speak to HostPapa. What should I do?
