yeah, that is the one thing that sucks.
they need some sort of “standard” for the Meta key used for webpage accesskeys, and preferrably the browser should let you decide.

so, for example, you could let (ctrl+alt) or (ctrl+shift) be your Meta combo for accesskeys … that way nothing collides.

for anyone snooping, accesskeys are like hotkeys for webpages.
You can add them to any link, like this:

<a accesskey="g" href="https://www.google.com"> google </a>

then people just hit alt+g to go to google … (except read my note about MS i.e. retardation above).

I’m now done with my first major “upgrade” after finally “finishing” the design.

There was way too much pink.
Now I’ve got a hatched gray thing going on in the background … easier on the eyes. ( But … is that grid … too “gridy” ? – and yes, I do have more important things to worry about )

Does anybody even worry about websafe colors anymore ? cause I could have come up with better grays.

OrangeGuru … if you love wordpress and want to continue with it … elinks is available for windows with cygwin. You may want to give it a shot.

Like I said, I have always been able to log in with this browser.

You may want to hang tight, as I’m sure the big boys are working on this.

Have you tried all the multiple suggestions from some other posts ? Frankly, I’ve been too lazy but I guess I will one day.

I don’t know what other people call it, but it’s definetly a bug. However, it won’t keep me from using wordpress.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this “bug” ? … cause I havn’t taken the time to try and figure it out.

I can delete my cookies all day long, and I still have problems occationally. Are you supposed to be able to log in on several machines ? Cause I know I don’t always log out.

Anyhow, I have always managed to find one browser that lets me in on one of my computers (I have 4, so that helps). Sometimes it’s Konquerer on Linux ….

Oddly, I have NEVER had a problem logging in with elinks (a text based console browser) … and so this has become my last resort.

Maybe it is necessary to close your browser even … or at least all pages to your blog.
You shouldn’t have to delete the cache should you ?
Ctrl-R should fetch you a fresh page.

I dunno …. but I agree there is some odd login stuff going on.

I would suggest playing around with both, if you can.

Sometimes it is really hard to tell what you want and what you don’t need till you start twidling, and figure out what direction your site is going in.

I run my own server, so I know this isn’t as easy for everyone … but I played with b2, wordpress, mt, and drupal before going with wordpress.

If you feel up to it you could install cygwin with apache/php/perl and try them all out.

i see someone else already had this idea for wordpress (which is good cause it means it must not be a bad idea) …
at the very least this should block any “non-human” spammers …

if i write up my little “hack” i may post a link here.

basically i just stole some md5-encrypt and md5-decrypt functions off of the php wiki and combined them with the Text2Picture technique used for picture titles …
