In reply to: [Social] Social won't broadcast to my facebook page! The developer says they can’t reproduce this error and until they can, there’s nothing to be done. Can anybody try this:
1. disable all plugins except social
2. try sharing a post to facebook
3. does the error happen?if the error does not happen, it is likely caused by a conflict with another plugin. Post here with any results if you can!

In reply to: [Social] Social won't broadcast to my facebook page!I have found a partial alternative. The Jetpack plugin for WordPress includes the ability to share posts that is very similar to this one, with the addition of a few more social networks as well. It doesn’t cover comments-integration, but I’ve been using them both together for a few days now without much trouble. I just disable Social’s sharing features for now.

In reply to: [Social] Social won't broadcast to my facebook page!I’m having a similar issue. When I try to broadcast, I get an error that says “Error validating access token: The session has been invalidated because the user has changed the password.” but even if I remove and re-apply the setting for my Facebook account, with the latest password, I still get this error, so I suspect that it may be inaccurate.

In reply to: How to Change Theme but Keep Taxonomy Information? That is helpful, thank you.
In my old theme, the taxonomies are indeed registered through the theme, via its functions.php file and other related .php files. I’ll use your tutorial and try to move that stuff over into a plugin that I can keep, even if I change themes.
Is there no plugin already that can detect previously-built taxonomy data?

In reply to: How to change wordpress blog's layout?Which of blogger’s themes is the one that you would like to emulate in WordPress? It’s possible that someone may have created a wordpress version of that theme. You might be able to search for it by name in the WordPress themes library.

In reply to: [Custom Author Byline] Try to filter all author-related queriesI am also having this issue with the plugin. The custom byline links to the admin user’s author page, not to the URL that I’ve entered via the plugin.
It doesn’t seem like the original developer is very active with the plugin. I wonder: would a fork be a good idea?
I can also think of some extra functionality that might be worthwhile, in addition to this fix, such as the ability to add a custom bio, or other bio information, without having to create a fullblown user.

In reply to: [Old Core Files] Existing / AllThank you. I was also confused by this. Perhaps a future update to the plugin could change the wording to make this more clear?

In reply to: Adding Post Formats to Twenty Twelve Child ThemeStrangely enough, it works now. Perhaps it simply took a while to take effect?

In reply to: Adding Post Formats to Twenty Twelve Child ThemeThank you for the tip. I changed 11 to 20 in the code above. The result that I got was still that the new post formats (e.g. video) do not appear in the “format” options for “add new post”. I had expected that list of options to match what’s listed in the code above.
I’m using this too, and it’s great! Thanks for the tips!

In reply to: [Co-Authors Plus] [Plugin: Co-Authors Plus] Create Author InstantlyThe functionality to assign an author without creating a user: would it allow for giving that author a bio? Currently I’m using a plugin called “Custom Author Byline” but it lacks that bio ability.

In reply to: "Letters to the editor" pluginI think that with minimal effort you should be able to modify one of the many “comment form” plugins to create a page where users can send a letter to the editor.
If you wanted to collect comments from many posts and show them all in one central location, then you should probably be able to use a “recent comments” widget for this.
I think that by combining those two approaches, you should be able to get at what you’re describing here.

In reply to: Chrome Extension similar to Tumblr???Well, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that yes, there is such a plugin ( https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pnbbfhcegldppmibabepjfjloachnmjb )
The bad news is that it doesn’t seem to work with www.remarpro.com (self-hosted) blogs. If anybody knows how to make it work that way, I’d love to hear about it.
