OK I tested it with your plugin again, and then disabled it. Both times generated a notification. It looks like, perhaps, using yuor plugin re-enabled the WP notification system. Strange.

No, I don’t. I’m currently using yours and another one that allows the poster to get emails on replies to his or her post, but that’s it.

Any idea why the WP built in notify feature isn’t working? I thought it might be a server issue, but if yours works, it makes me wonder what is going on.

I just installed it. It just seems like WP, being a blog and all, would have notification to comments built-in. I mean it seems like an important aspect of a blog.

In reply to: NextGen Gallery not sorting

Still a problem here also. very, very annoying for customers. Some galleries aren’t even sporting at all, just a hodgepodge. For example, I have sort setup as descending/filename and I get 1/3 ascending and some descending and some just jumbled around.

Is this going to be fixed, ever?

    I think you’ve misunderstood what I’m after.

Using only core WP media library functions, is there a way to create specific directories that each set of files will be uploaded into? As it is right now, if I’m understanding it correctly, when you insert anything, or create any gallery, the images are only available as one huge list of files–even though they upload by months, day, etc, if you set that option.

Put another way, there is no list of galleries with each subsequent galleries’ images, even with the ‘new’ media library functions.

I’m using NextGEN gallery right now which does do this, but it is limited in the opposite–single files are a list of all files, or some files, although it does categorize images by “gallery name, ID.” So if I use NextGEN gallery to insert one image, I either need to search through or type in each files name. The biggest limitation of the NextGEN gallery, currently, is that it does not support files other than graphic types 9not PDF, etc) so I can’t use tit to categorized files.

I think what I will do is create a directory using FTP and use that directory to like by URL to specific files I want.

It would just be nice to have a WP media library that was more useable. As it is right now, the only files I have in the media library are my header images, and that’s waste of code.

There is a plug-in that allows one to categorize all media files into specific categories, but when you first upload the images/files, you cannot assign them to a specific category. You have to manually find them, then assign the category. So if you have thousands of files, good luck with that.

Let me clarify what I mean. Is there yet a way to upload media to specific “galleries” in WordPress?

    Example:

    Upload Media:
Default Location or Add new Gallery (location)

Another way to put this, is there anyway to tell WP to categories our uploads? There are people who have over 50, 000 images, files, etc. Are we suppose to search through those files every time we need to use one?

I know there is a plugin called “Media Categories” but that is still after the fact of an upload. You still need to find the file and assign it to a category.

I guess as a work around we could FTP files to specific directories, then link by URL when adding media.

Like button that shows on *box type image containers?

It would really be nice to have the ability to add a like button to lightbox, colorbox, etc. plugins for individual images.

Got it. The Widget was using the absolute path and not the site name. I changed that and now it works. Thanks.

The like button on the home page has a number in it, but if I enable the like button for the sidebar, it will read 0 on the same page (or t least not match the home like button number).

Well, it’s in the sidebar of the twenty-eleven theme. That may constitute a different page. That’s my guess anyway.

This is what type of intrusiveness I’m talking about:

“Sign Up to see what your friends like” After all like buttons. It’s just too verbose on for a professional site. MY SITE IS NOT ABOUT FACEBOOK!

Come on Facebook. You’re using my site to advertise for people to sign up? I’m done. Until you take your tentacles out of my business I’m using a 3rd party plugin.

Please offer an option to remove any number counts.

PLEASE! Just a like button, share button, subscribe button.

Pushing the button returns: “You (subscribed, liked, sent) to xxxx.”

Nice and clean, that’s it. I don’t want my business site to be an intrusive extension of Facebook. I want Facebook to be an extension of my site.

Give you guys a couple more weeks to fix things like this before I go back to 3rd party plugins that actually work. Thank goodness for open source noninstrusive plugins.
