Email backups have a limitation of around 20 MB file size, which is imposed by email providers (like Gmail , ,Outlook and others). So, if your backup file is larger than 20 MB, it will cause errors.

I recommend using other destinations like Dropbox or FTP for larger files instead!

You can always update the free version, and it usually updates automatically.

For the pro version, you will need an active license in order to update!

There is a memory issue:

ERROR: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8192 bytes).

I suggest that you increase the maximum memory limit if possible, or try to reduce the server load:

BackWPUp -> Settings -> Job tab -> Reduce server load -> choose minimum.

Also, in the same section, lower the Maximum Script Execution Time to around 20 seconds.

Hi @michael1908,

The “FOLDER” is the location of the backup file in your corresponding destination. In this case, “FOLDER” means the backup file is located in your website host directory.

Another example is when you back up the job to Dropbox. You can find these backup files in the same section, but with DROPBOX:job-name.

Great to hear the issue has been resolved! As I can see from the last log, the backup file was sent successfully to the server after you changed the server configuration.

The “first connection failed” error was just a temporary issue for the first attempt, and the second try was successful – BWU was able to connect to the FTP server and upload the file successfully!
