No idea of what you are talking about…inconsistencies?

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Post backup processingOK, I may have answered one of my questions regarding the backup removal. I have the following settings:
Cleanup by Date(days) – 1
Cleanup by Quantity – 1
Cleanup by Capacity(MB) – 0Right now I’m running a daily backup only because I want to get this working. So with the above settings it keeps just one backup for 24 hours on the local server and all the backups on S3.
Now just have to figure out the log files.

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Post backup processingThis isn’t working. Please correct me as to where to make the settings.
First, with regard to the log file. I go into Settings->General Settings-Enable XCloner Backup Log. I turn that off because I don’t want the log files. I then save the settings. Next time I log in it’s turned on and it’s creating log files. How do I set this? Also, where is this option for log rotation?
Also, local backups are not being deleted. Since I send them to S3 I don’t want to save them at all. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong? What should my settings be for the following options if I want to delete a local backup as soon as possible after it has been moved to S3?
In Settings->Cleanup Options there are the following 3 settings. What should I set them to?
Cleanup by Date(days)
Cleanup by Quantity
Cleanup by Capacity(MB)Thanks!
Maybe there is a benefit to separate buckets I did not consider. In the Manage Backups window when switching to view remote storage it will show all backups in the bucket. Including the backups for other domains.

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Post backup processingAnswering part of my question…I see I can disable the backup log in Settings.
I see where when saving a scheduled backup all the settings are saved. So I can prefix WordPress backups with “wp” rather than “backup”. That solves that problem. I might consider a separate bucket for each website but for now I’m going to have them all go into one. It’s quick and I can quickly scan the listing to find what I’m looking for. I will probably set a rule in S3 to delete files after a certain period of time, 2 or 3 years. Thanks for your help.
I am backing up about 20 sites every month. Some are Joomla, some are WordPress, and some are html. They all go to S3. When I look at my S3 bucket I’d like to see them sort by website type. I use Akeeba Backup for Joomla and I can save a setup for a backup and make these things part of the automation.
All my Joomla sites begin with “jmla” and then the date/time stamp. So I can quickly look at the file listing in S3 and find a particular backup from a particular date for a specific domain.
As for excluding files I almost always exclude the administrator directory, cgi bin, and one other I forget which. I think it’s something my host puts in there. Anyway, they are not needed to reinstall a website.
I take backups for several reasons. One is a standard monthly backup. Another may be before major changes and not part of a schedule. Another may be prior to adding new plugins and also not part of a schedule. I make notes as to the reason for the backup in the comments.

I updated my PHP version to 7.0 and verified that the XML Writer module was enabled and it works. I was on PHP 5.5.
I installed 4.0.2, the connection to S3 verifies as working, but the upload fails. Here’s the error line from the debug log file.
[2017-03-15 19:35:17] php_system.INFO: E_ERROR: array ( 'type' => 1, 'message' => 'Class \'XMLWriter\' not found', 'file' => '/home/idg12afr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/vendor/aws/aws-sdk-php/src/Api/Serializer/XmlBody.php', 'line' => 38, ) [] []
I’m having the same problem and wonder if I should also download this beta software from the link provided?
Great job on the new interface.

It may be simple enough to be confounding. In Permalinks you can select a style. I generally use “Postname” as my link style. So I changed it to Default and saved it. Then it worked. Then I changed it back to Postname after running the search and replace.
You should also consider the suggestion above to shorten the search string by dropping the “https://”.
What I had to do was go into Permalinks, make a change, and then save it. It converted them all. Prior to that the menus other than home were going to the live domain.
Thanks.
Got it working. It was my error.
Not working for me. Used the search and replace in the link. I still get the serialized data error. Menus aren’t working. This used to work. It is still referring to the live server, https://www.sitename.com, while I want it pointing to my local MAMP. https://localhost:8888/sitename
