I should prolly add that I’m running 2.3.3 at the moment. I started a few years ago with WP 1.2 – encoding was latin1 (ISO-8859-1) back then.

1. You need to make a few blocks using your .htaccess file. Google for “.htaccess blocklist”

2. Enable some antispam plugins : Akismet, SpamKarma and Bad Behaviour

3. All your spam come from trackbacks. Do you really need them ?

You need to put accents in their HTML entities forms. For example :

é is é
à is à

etc.

I’ve got the same errors in my error_log file : between last night and today, the file crop up to 149 KB…

I’m using Login Logger already – I’m planning on using its information to whip up a few SQL queries that will prune unused accounts.

I would be most interested in such a plugin as well !
A last-accessed timestamp would do nicely.

I’ve got the exact same issue : most of my posts appear as “uncategorized”. I started a thread yesterday and logged a support ticket.

No matter how much memory is increased, the upgrade process to 2.3.x does not complete properly.

Did you run wp-admin/upgrade.php ?

I use SpamKarma with the Akismet extension; Spam doesn’t bother me anylonger ??

You won’t lose anything.

1- backup your DB, make sure your backup is valid
2- put the new version on your server
3- run /wp-admin/upgrade.php

Can you point me to that topic please ? I’ve been searching the first 3 pages of results and couldn’t find it. (And 56k sucks…)
