For anyone else that ends up with these type of dupes, I figured out my specific case.
I had turned on the Jetpack SEO switch, and while I had entered in no specific info, it was setting up the default tagline as a meta description tag and competing with WPSSO.
Turning off that SEO switch cleared it out.
Best to handle SEO within a plugin that you can explicitly see what is being done.

I know I need to remove one of them. This is the default tagline from WordPress. I didnt add anything via a page, etc.

I need this one populated in order to display on the home page.
I suspect that I will need to blank that one out, and possibly add a txt widget with our tagline, or incorporate it into the header image.

I guess there is no fix other than that.

Thanks!! Yes I think I need to regen all my thumbnails.

I think we posted at the same time. Let me know if that update make sense

update: so the plugin is generating the image url based on the 300(ish) thumbnail.
which doesnt seem to exist, but the main image itself does.

Should I try to regen all my thumbnails?
Or where does it determine which image size to use?

yup, delete and reinstalled worked!

Sorry about going dark.
One quick update, it does seem like its only on Advanced Settings, I can save Essential and General settings tabs just fine.

I had another plugin act up as well. so will be doing a full debug tonight, including server redirects

It had been working, maybe I will start with a fresh install, and also remove settings on uninstall first.

I will ask my dev team for the graph screenshot, but I can verify that there didnt appear to be any scheduled backup running. its only scheduled once per day and we have seen those spikes, but knew what they were.
This is more a gradual increase in resource usage.
