  • That is strange. I just took a look (running Windows 10) and it doesn’t work in Chrome. However, it does work in Edge and IE. What version of Chrome are you running? I’m running: Version 46.0.2490.80 m (64-bit)

    Hello Tommyleyland,

So the first step would be to go to Settings->General and then adjust the “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)”.

Occasionally there may be problems still. If that persists take a look at this information.

I just looked on my phone and the image wasn’t there, but that may have something to do with the responsiveness of the theme. However on my PC it shows up on all browsers. Not sure why it wouldn’t show on your PC with Chrome though. Maybe try clearing your cache, cookies and history and try again? Hope that helps a little…

    Hello shirleypm,

I took a look at your site on IE and Chrome, however they look the same on both. Maybe I am missing something though, what exactly does not display for you in Chrome?

Hope this is what you are looking for, but take a look at this information here.

If you add the “target” attribute to a link it will open in a new tab/window.

    target="_blank"

Perhaps you have a template selected that is showing Widgets by Default. I’m not sure what theme you are using, however see if there is a full width page template, which would then disable the widgets.

    Hello gritsandpineconescom,

I just took a look at your site and it looks like fine for me, Took a little while to load, but formatting all looks fine. Hope you were able to figure out the problem, sorry I wasn’t able to provide any support earlier.

Uploading photos to Safari in iOS is a reported issue. Unfortunately it appears to be an intermittent issue not affecting everyone and not all the time based on what I’ve read.

Alternatively you could download the Chrome Browaer app and try that, or as suggested by reztech download the WordPress app.

    Hello tommybc,

I’m personally not sure of a way to do that. But take a look at this information on how to reduce spam on your blog. Maybe a solution there will help. All the best.

    Hello Globetrottinggran,

May I ask what browser you are using? And what device you are using? Sounds like it may be less of an issue with WordPress and more of an issue with the browser.

Hello Harry20151020, That is strange for sure. Not sure if this helps, but just an oberservation. It looks like the “Read More” text is only not aligning properly when there is less than three lines of paragraph text. Hope that can help a little bit.

Older versions of IE often have problems like that. Which version of IE are you using?

You may want to try viewing the page in Compatibility Mode and seeing if that makes a difference. If it does, than unfortunately it may be an issue with IE, rather than your site.

    Hello CGardikiotis,

I would love to help, however I need some more information. Did you install WordPress in the root of your domain? So to access your website you would just go to https://www.mywebsite.com? Or did you install WordPress in https://www.mywebsite.com/wordpress?

If you are unsure of where you installed it, try just going to https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin

And to tell which version of WordPress you are using, when in the Admin Panel, take a look in the bottom right corner of any of the pages. It will let you know your version number there.

    Hello Synchrony3,

Sorry about the trouble you are having. I hope I fully understand your issue, but from what you mentioned you were able to login to the WordPress Admin Panel, select a theme, even add content. However, when you go to view the front end of your website, it directs you to a GoDaddy page?

If that is the case, I would try clearing your browsers History, Cookies, and Cache. Maybe even try a different browser to see if the problem still occurs. Hopefully that helps a little.

    Hello academyofspirit,

I am sorry about all the frustration you are having, and I’m sorry your WordPress experience hasn’t been what you had hoped for. However the posts you added to WordPress are most likely still available. I would suggest the one of the two following methods for retrieving your data. Both will work, just pick the one you feel most comfortable with.

    1. WordPress saves all of your data not in the way that many are used to, such as files in folders. Rather all of the pages and posts are saved in a MySQL database (just a large spreadsheet basically). I believe that BlueHost uses phpMyAdmin to view the MySQL database. Inside this database you will find a table entitled “wp_posts”. Inside this in the column “post_content” you will find the content to all of the blog posts you have created.

    2. A possibly easier and less technical way to retrieve your data would be to switch the DNS back to your old WordPress website. From there you can log back on and copy all of the posts you created into a separate document. Then switch the DNS back to your Weebly site, and add them there.

I hope this helps, and all the best for your new website.
