So if the issue doesn’t happen on the staging site but happens on the live site, the question is what’s different between those two environments?

You mentioned having installed SG Optimizer. An easy way to test if that’s the cause of the issue is to temporarily deactivate it and do a refund without restocking items. Does it work without issues then?

Hi @martinfreire. I’m sorry that we missed your post.

If you hit “Recalculate” when modifying line items in an order, this will make calculations for taxes using the options set in WooCommerce. If you want to enter in your own tax amounts, this is a manual process where you can enter in the taxes and save. In that case, you would not use “Recalculate”.

I hope that you have resolved this issue since it’s some time since you posted but perhaps this explanation could help some other store owners as well.

You’re right that as soon as you save changes to a variation or remove a variation in a variable product, those changes are immediately saved to the database. I’ve confirmed with the developers that this is how variations are implemented in WooCommerce.

Hi @johnnyxp64. In terms of reinstalling WooCommerce, you can do that by FTP using this guide – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/installation-2/#section-3
