Finally figured it out. The version # needed to to be updated in the child theme source code.

Just to add to this.

I copied my site to a staging area, ran troubleshooting mode. I turned off all plugins except Powerpress and I’m using a Twenty nineteen WP theme. The [powerpress_playlist] and [powerpress] shortcodes still don’t work.

I flushed both the Static and Dynamic caches through my web host.

SAYYYY WHAT! That worked!

I didn’t even think to try that. I guess when you look at the computer and bang your head for a week, the simple things to try just escape your brain.

I’ll keep an eye on it but looks to ok. Wonder what causes that?

I’ve tried this and it’s definitely the theme. But when I do a clean WP install on a separate site I don’t have the issue. Any place I could look to diagnose what’s going on/ what could be causing this? I’m trying to work with my theme developer but their the opposite time zone and so communication is a bit of a challenge.

I’ve been doing some research and I think I may have found something that worked. Maybe this is the solution you had?

I inerted this code into .htaccess and obvisouly rep-laced my own dowmin. Bu is seems to be working.

Thaks the quick response. No, I don’t have the default htaccess code because WP had me put in different code when I set up the multisite. The other code is from SG Optimizer or gzip.

As for force SSL for admin, no I don’t. Should I?
