Nipro: Indeed the image I first posted was using Opera browser. I looked at the log page using MS Edge browser, and get similar results — although it is blocking a bit less — in Edge I can’t see/click the “view details” option for any of the items which the ads are hiding that column on. I did also check on the setting page and the same ads appear there, but they aren’t blocking anything — at least that I can tell or have noticed.

This is the MS Edge results:

The “Disable font awesome css loading” is OFF, so I assume that means that font awesome css loading IS enabled. I have not made any changes to the Wpdisquz settings and it previously worked. I’m thinking it may have something to do with my now using the WP Hide & Security Enhancement plugin. Since installing WP Hide I notice that the WPDiscuz captcha no longer works either — and it used to work fine, so I will have to see if a setting in WP Hide is perhaps interfering with things.

Indeed the problem seems to be fully resolved now. Thank you.

My apologies for not responding when it would have been useful for me to do so. Sorry about that. Was unavailable for a few days. Seems like the problem is fixed, so that is good news. Thank you for your prompt assistance/fix.

I have also been having some problems with the new typography update. The first prob (now I forget the exact error) I managed to fix .. just as I was about to post about it … by going into the plugin settings and selecting “clear cache.” However, now I am getting a new error, and cannot access the site:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate abstract class WP_Typography in /home/user/domain/includes/wp-typography/data-storage/class-transients.php on line 120

Thank you Nico for your reply. My mistake, and sorry that I’ve caused some confusion — It was indeed only a problem when I deactivated the plugin on one site. The plugin didn’t “clean-up” the <wiki> </wiki> tags that it had generated … I only discovered that when I saw them all indexed by Google in search results, and then I went back and manually went through that site and removed all the <wiki> </wiki> tags to fix the problem. So, indeed Google is NOT indexing the tags when the plugin is activated (I was mistaken about that). The problem is just that if you deactivate or remove the plugin for any reason, you may have a lot of posts/pages to go through (or use db search/replace) in order to remove all the tags.

As you (stephencottontail) were such a huge help previously I’m hopeful that you might have a solution also (I’m sure you do) to removing the same info (post meta / date – categories list) from all displays within the Quill theme. To me it looks yet different again from the two you previously helped with … just to make it even more confusing. Yet again, to me it seems like a relatively simple/common option – and I frequently see postings asking how to do it – and I’m amazed that theme developers in all their myriad options and updates still do not include options for things like turning on/off the display of date and/or other meta data.

Thank you very much for any assistance you can provide (again). ??

I’m not sure if this is considered an issue with the plugin, itself, or with WP Layers. I tried to contact the Layers people but found it very difficult to find a place where I could actually contact a human … and not be referred to faqs or pages redirect to somewhere I didn’t want to be, etc. Even the Layers “chat” feature wouldn’t allow me to create a new message – only respond to previous auto-generated messages sent by Layers staff, and even then I could only reply to those when the particular staff member was “online” and “available,” so I just gave up.

Fortunately for me, on my Layers sites there are only a few images used anyway, so it isn’t too big of a deal, but as more and more people are using sliders, I’m sure there will be lots of people who could benefit from being able to lazy load those images.

As it’s been a month since my original post in this forum, I’ll assume that the plugin author does not monitor this forum; as such I am going to mark this thread as “resolved.” The resolution: Don’t use lazy load with sliders.

*I believe the Lazy Load plugin DOES allow you to change settings so it doesn’t effect specific elements of the page, and perhaps it is possible to tell it not to try to lazy load images in sliders, although I don’t know how to do that.

Although the plugin still seems to work fine – for me – as of WP 4.4.2 (March 2016), I am wondering if you will be continuing to update/maintain the plugin?
    Thanks for your efforts.

I use the plugin on multiple sites, and it works for me. What doesn’t work for you?

Thank you so very much. This has finally brought an end to DAYS of trial and error and frustration. It all works perfectly. Greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much. That does exactly what I need. I don’t know why WP or individual theme designers don’t have a readily available simple check-box option to turn on/off functions such as post date, etc.?

One more question, please and thank you: Would you know how to make the same work in themify-base theme? I tried using the same code, but changing ‘twentysixteen’ to ‘themify-base’ but no luck. I didn’t think it would work just changing the theme name like that, as I’m sure different themes call things differently, but I thought I’d try it.

Depending on various options and circumstances I’ve found it preferable to use a separate sitemap plugin (BWP Sitemap) for some of my sites. Yoast’s sitemap feature continues to work great for other of my sites.

Thanks Mohammed. The plugin is great, and look forward to the options being added. I’m certain this plugin is going to get wide use and become very popular.

Please ignore. The issue was related to https and I have fixed it.
